At one time when I saw and heard this, the holy and venerable teacher definitively said that the body of essence (ངོ་བོ་ཉིད་ཀྱི་སྐུ) is without partiality, possessing all discriminations, namely permanence and annihilation, birth and cessation, object, attachment, hatred, delusion, pride, jealousy, the five desires, killing, stealing, sexual misconduct, lying, slander, harsh speech, idle talk, covetousness, malice, and wrong view. The five inexpiable sins, the near five inexpiable sins, the four heavy sins, the eight wrong actions, and the practice of eating feces, excrement, urine, blood, semen, etc., should be known as the sacred path of the holy ones. Having heard these definitive teachings, I said this: Emaho! How rare and wonderful is this Dharma! From the authentic and reliable teachings of the perfect Buddha, how can all kinds of inverted views arise? I requested in this way. The holy and venerable teacher replied: For those who cling to inverted views, it is impossible to guide them with countless excellent methods. Therefore, in order to lead them into the definitive meaning, this is shown as a method of guidance. For those who, even if they have a firm understanding of the correct view, will not enter but will abandon it, if they are guided by means of wrong conduct, they will undoubtedly enter the right path. In order to guide them by means of deception, with various kinds of individual inclinations, combining views and practices that are compatible with them, it is taught as a method of approaching and leading. For example, just as parents use threats and enticements to make unruly children engage in proper activities, this is guiding them towards the truth with love. Furthermore, just as some people who want to reach the other shore of a river rely on boatmen to get there, and abandon the boat once they reach the shore, the various methods or vehicles, although they are methods of guiding by relying on them, once the definitive understanding of the meaning is obtained, they are abandoned like a boat after crossing the river. Therefore, if one understands this truth, then everything, whatever it may be, is certainly a path to the sacred path, and therefore, it is the most direct path among paths. After saying this, the teacher remained silent. O friends, therefore, we should follow in the footsteps of the holy ones and embark on this sacred path.

If one wishes to know, to be clear, unmixed, and completely perfect in all ways, in all circumstances, and in all forms, then one should understand this path in order to fully understand samsara. One should also understand this path in order to fully understand nirvana. Furthermore, one should fully understand this noble path in order to obtain the twenty great miracles. One should also fully understand this noble path in order to destroy the eighty mountains of conceptualization. One should also fully understand this noble path in order to cut off the nine gates of downfall. Therefore, all those who wish to fully and completely understand all the limitless things, should understand this noble path. The nature of mind itself is the noble path, like the path of birds in the sky, without trace. The noble path, free from fear and reversal, this certain path, in order for all to understand, is approximated by the path of words. The inexpressible, beyond the realm of words, in that very nature, the unconditioned nature is suchness. In that nameless place, by applying names, the difference between appearing and not appearing changes. From this, it becomes the basis of action, so that it can be seen by speech. The path of words is of various kinds, and the gates of the path of words change immeasurably. From this, the traces of the noble ones are cut off. The teachings that arise from whose mind, like searching for treasure with a lamp. The close path, the noble path to enlightenment, whatever arises, if one follows it, one will revolve in the wheel of samsara. Whatever arises, whatever movement is stopped, it will become the cessation of continuity. The fool who thinks that nothing arises, will fall into the dark path of stubborn clinging. Whatever is grasped as "this," is the mountain of conceptual signs. If one cuts off the extremes by saying there is no before or after, then that is non-existence, it is an extreme of annihilation. In the unconditioned nature, for a moment, whatever moves, the arising of birth and cessation, from that, whatever arises, whatever increases, the various paths will increase and change, but the noble path itself is not something newly found. For example, any child who walks, abandons the shadow and seeks purity. From where it arises, from that very place it seeks, but it does not find purity that decreases or increases. That itself is primordially such. Wherever here, with various sufferings, one seeks the path until the body is exhausted, it is a meaningless work of demons. In that, whatever is spoken in words, is like the sky.
