It is not. That which transcends biased views is the Middle Way itself. In that very nature which is without inherent existence, In the very nature of mind, in an instant, Without wavering, constantly remember. When one thus engages in Samadhi on that, Such signs of sensation arise: Warmth, signs, miracles, And manifest realization and wisdom arise. Warmth is movement and attainment, Signs are arising and stability, Miracles are arising and completion, Wherever all awareness is clear, There all meanings are complete. For example, when darkness dissipates, Light arises, and the sky, Is seen everywhere, and everything is clear. Therefore, by that distinction, Wherever the darkness of attachment is dispelled, Like the wind sweeping away the clouds, By the yoga of an instant, That realm of darkness will be swept away. Just as a lamp dispels darkness, And that itself becomes light, When one recognizes that in an instant, The darkness of previous clinging is dispelled. Those awarenesses that are known, That itself opens its door, Thus, with the eye and the one who possesses the eye, Seeing, hearing, and verbal paths are compiled into four sections. Because it is Sakya, therefore look to that. If one does not possess that eye, With endless words, Whatever terms are spoken about that, One cannot distinguish between definite and indefinite aims. Because the mind follows words, like a wild man, It is not a place or path for learning. Even if a hundred thousand verbal paths are spoken, One should not speak to others. If someone speaks something, It is a false statement, stealing the Vajra's teachings. Without liberation, that Vajra becomes a downfall. Those who fabricate illusions in Ngor (a branch of the Sakya school), Before the power of definite wisdom arises, Being led by verbal letters, If one speaks of the indefinite as the path, Then like taking the lives of all beings, One who speaks of indefinite Dharma is heavier with fault. Therefore, in the equality of extremes and the center, When does the demon enter all at once? The length of time one dwells in yoga, And whether there is residue or not, When will it be completely equal without remainder? If one abides in that as it is, That very nature immediately appears. If one does not waver from that as it is, Then it does not go to the city of appearances. If one does not cling to that in this way, Then how could one go to the place without appearances? Because that itself has become manifest, Those are not in a peaceful place. If one determines the extremes of existence and non-existence, That is the yoga that transcends extremes. Here, Certainty is supreme, Whoever makes such vows, Where does one expect?

For the one without doubt, the obscuration of error certainly appears. Why differentiate between the center and the edge? If there is a center, then the edge also naturally arises; if there is no center, then the edge also naturally ceases. Differentiating between the center and the edge is within, being apart from the edge and the center is just that. Not abiding, not taking, not differentiating, not being anything, without seeing or hearing. Not differentiating anything, free from action, without beginning, free from the expression of appearance. The nature of reality, which is beyond thought, is placed in suchness without thought. All phenomena that are inconceivable are none other than suchness without thought. Earth and liberation, and so forth, the white aspect of the Dharmakaya and enlightenment, all are inconceivable, and become a great obscuration of error. The great asceticism that is difficult to transcend is simply the unconditioned suchness. Immeasurable victors are difficult to surpass. What is the error of grasping onto what is formless? This vast, all-pervading ground is naturally established without ever being traversed. There is nothing that is not understood in this ground. What is the error of establishing the ground and traversing in this? Likewise, in the primordial arising of suchness and such awareness, what is the desire to sequentially produce differences? In this, there is only ignorance. Certainly liberated from that self-arisen one. For that which is without an object of thought, the great equanimity yogi, as the nature of reality is, enters the place of error by abandoning the body and adjusting the mind. In that great liberation of all, while certainly knowing that there is no binding or liberation, what is bound by realizing asceticism in this is in error from the very nature of great liberation. In the very nature of the unconditioned from the beginning, wherever one abides, that is just that. Where is there a place of error in that? Even the obscuration of error is just that. Having discussed thus, the bodhisattvas of inferior bodies, such as the lord of Lanka, were completely liberated from whatever binds them, and the hesitation of hope and effort was cut off. Thus concludes the fifty-fourth chapter, "The Mirror Showing All Dharmas," from the Great Sutra Compendium of the Intentions of All Buddhas. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the Lord of Lanka, completely inquired of the Lord of Secrets about the root of what. O Lord of Secrets, what is called the root of all dharmas? How can it be fully understood? After inquiring thus, the Lord of Secrets said: O Lord of Lanka, this excellent question you have asked is good! Very good! What are all the
