These sentient beings with wisdom, transformed by a single cause and condition, appear as two: awareness and unawareness. The suffering of samsara is like a dream. Like waking up from a dream after a deep breath, all is great bliss, the mind of enlightenment, appearing as vast and expansive as the sky. All speculations about sudden events are compounded and not unborn. Therefore, realize vastness through suchness. Effortless wisdom arises spontaneously. The eighth chapter concludes. The lord of Lanka is this very one, the seven roots that are certain. If you examine it, realize it, then it is definitely determined. Islands and mountains, together with their surrounding boundaries, are clear from the peak of Mount Meru itself. Once that is found, all categories of vehicles clearly reveal that great nature itself. The king of light in the world is the radiant, clear sun. All dharmas are completely and clearly perfected; all appearances are that great nature itself. The great opportunity is the sky, like the opening of the four great elements. Through the union of secrets, all expressions of speech are clearly explained. Whoever obtains the secret of the teachings is not dependent on anyone else. If one understands all the essence of secrets, there is no need to search for any expression of speech. All phenomena with continuity arise and appear from the nature of space. Likewise, all phenomena of speech arise from that profound realm. All categories of things to be done ultimately gather into the accomplishment of the fruit. Although countless vast things are spoken, all of them gather into suchness. The essence of a clear mirror is like showing the image of a face. Likewise, the mirror of dharma clearly reveals the nature of all things. The root of all things is self-arisen, therefore, nature is in no way artificial. Because all-knowing wisdom does not perish, all directions are seen by the clear light of appearance. Since everything gathers there, non-existence is exhausted into its very essence. Likewise, since all is one in suchness, there is no term for duality. Since the cause is already perfectly complete in the result, it is only that which is free from hope and fear. Since there is nothing to be abandoned, where is there anything to be obtained? Already seen, already practiced, already done. Desire is already fulfilled, already satisfied. Likewise, since the object is already accomplished, it arises only from that attainment. All concepts appear in emptiness. Everything is

Accomplishment is enabled by skillful means; harmony appears when doubt is severed. In short, there are only three; in reality, there are only two; definitely, there is nothing beyond one. Everything gathers here, arising from this. If you know the root of everything, then everything is as it is, unadulterated. Suchness is the essence of everything. Everything appears like an illusion, but there is no substantiality. Without attachment, the mind is not confused. In the nature of the sky, there is no inherent existence; it is beyond investigation, thus free from substance. There is nothing other than the essence itself, constantly appearing in various forms. Like a lamp, it illuminates and dispels darkness, arising from the wish-fulfilling jewel. Without arising or ceasing, it is free from fear. Not fixated on anything, it is free from weariness. If realized, it is free from all actions and efforts. In the realm of understanding, there is no progression. Each word of this great essence transmits the intention of all the Buddhas. Even if the three roots are severed elsewhere, the secret meaning arises from this essence itself. Whoever seeks anything elsewhere has entered a mistaken path. Obscured by the darkness of conceptual thought, whatever is ignorance is obscured. Conceptual thought itself is the obstacle, and the obstacle arises from it. If conceptual thought does not arise, where does the name 'demon' exist? If asked where demons come from, they always arise from effort. Without effort, demons do not arise; why not make effort? That itself is the demon. Likewise, faults and straying obscurations arise from seeing qualities as equal. If there is no seeing qualities as equal, where do faults and straying obscurations exist? That itself is faults and straying obscurations. If it has not become manifest, even if the secret meaning is burned, it is like a sick person burning medicine, to no avail. Without a definite method, wandering in bad states. Objects, signs, entities, and memories, thoughts, hearing, and seeing, all that exists, however it moves in the mind, appears that way in that instant. Impermanent, not abiding, momentary, non-decaying, non-arising, great bliss mind. Since there is nothing other than the essence of mind, where is there any straying or obscuration? Who seeks the meaning of straying and obscuration? By whom and how is straying and obscuration found? Straying and obscuration themselves are that very essence; searching for it also leads back to it. Searching elsewhere, it arises from that, but looking does not bring seeing or realization, like a rainbow appearing in darkness. This is the distinction of seeing.
