Whatever of the four conducts is practiced, there is a way to be liberated without being bound. All are trained there, the supreme place of the path. Where one seeks the trace of meaning, wishing to completely cut off delusion and obscuration, the yogi hero who eliminates extremes, holding onto a side with attachment, holding onto the view of the middle and the extremes, possessing a firm conviction in rituals, all of those can be said to be yoga, but in the true sense, they are not in accordance. The conduct seems to be in accordance, but in the true sense, it is not in accordance. One is attached to looking at a side, but one is not attached to the sacred meaning. One seems to feel a sudden sensation, but one does not feel the sensation of the nature of reality. Although one says selflessness, free from sides, one is not free from attachment to sides. One seems to destroy false thoughts, but one does not destroy the thoughts of grasping and being grasped. The yogi who clings to the middle and the extremes, with the lamp of words and phrases, seeks the gold of the true Middle Way, having seized this deluded monkey, should establish it as a thief cat. Block all the gold holes and star holes, tear down the tables and boxes, and open the king's treasury, those are the masters who enjoy perfect possession. Those who seek the path of the true Middle Way should abandon the five faults of thought: the mountain of coarse thought, signs, movement, feeling, and the five aspects of arising feeling and arising.

Self-nature, inner and outer characteristics, attention, and evil abodes, may these be thoroughly clarified. Where is the view of Madhyamaka itself most excellent? The faults that obscure the Madhyamaka path, what are the five kinds of obscurations that arise? Birth, sensation, sinking, and dullness, attachment, clinging, and, due to the power of solidity and falsehood, abyss, darkness, and obstruction, and only constant emptiness. These are the faults of Madhyamaka, in Madhyamaka one desires the yoga of a Bodhisattva. Seeking the path of certainty in Madhyamaka, constantly guarding in a solitary place, with the wisdom that measures by two valid cognitions, cutting off the traces of conceptual thought. From where does the prior thought of existence or non-existence arise? By investigation, thought arises from the object, the mountain of thought will be pacified, therefore not in the three evil abodes. From where does realization arise? It arises from the characteristic itself. If one knows well that characteristics are like illusions, the dharmas of characteristics will be pacified, therefore not below the desire realm. How are characteristics? They also arise from the elements. If one knows that memory is a fault and is pacified, then one can eliminate the faults of wandering, not in the second place of the desire realm. How is wandering? It also arises in that way. If one knows it in that way, then one can eliminate the feeling of fault, not in the third place of the desire realm. If one investigates it in that way there, that is outer and self-nature, if one knows well that it is a fault, then where is arising and ceasing? Therefore not in the fourth place of the desire realm. From where does it arise? It arises from the dharmas of the mind, if one knows well that the mind is like an illusion, the dharmas of the mind will be pacified. Aggregates are like reflections, the mind is regarded as like a mirage, liberated from the extremes of existence and non-existence, if one knows this, then not in the fifth place of the desire realm. The mind itself is not regarded as an existing thing, or called non-existent, therefore it will not fall into a strange place, not becoming a state of sinking dullness, therefore it will not become a fault of meditation. Since it does not follow after thought, therefore it will not come to the place of sentient beings, since one sees the arising and the root, therefore it is also not in the place of peace, since one does not see peace as peace, then how could it be in the place of the self-arisen? Since it is also not only mind-only, therefore the Bodhisattva is also not there. In the equal Madhyamaka of emptiness, since there is no difference between each other, one can purify the stages of the ground.
