Regarding giving, what need is there to mention using wealth and possessions? It is better to enter this supreme path, Think of the enemy of samsara, Why not follow in the footsteps of the Victorious Ones? Descendants do not sever the deeds of ancestors, By the compassion of the Bodhisattvas, We are established in this way, With a mind that remembers kindness, Do not let good deeds be in vain, Now, generate great faith, For the teachings of Bodhicitta, Always contemplate them day and night. Sentient beings have the essence of Buddhahood, At this time, they become sons of the Victorious Ones. Likewise, I am prophesied, The qualities of both samsara and nirvana, Wander in samsara under the power of afflictions, Happiness and suffering arise from white and black karma. By the power of the qualities of white karma, Among the six desires, none are the same, Each has subtle qualities. Hell beings remember past and future lives, Hungry ghosts obtain food through stinginess, Animals have food and drink, The Asuras have miraculous powers, On the human body, vows are made, The gods have clairvoyance, In the realm of form, meditation abides, In the formless realm, superior attainment is gained, By the exhaustion of karma and the cessation of afflictions, The noble Hearers and Solitary Realizers attain Arhatship. Those who enter the path are liberated from the experience of samsara, Self-benefit attains the bliss of peace, For the sake of others, illusory compassion arises, For that purpose, reaching the ultimate perfection, The Buddha's pure land is the land of bliss. In the Dharmadhatu, there is no wide or narrow, The equal and vast plain is like the palm of the hand, A garden of various lotus flowers, Complete with color, fragrance, and protection. A great palace adorned with precious jewels, Form is appearance, nature is emptiness. In the palace of all-illuminating light, The body of space is adorned with marks and signs. Possessing wisdom without conceptualization, In the mandala without partiality, Complete with the five perfections. The unchanging, luminous Vajra Throne, Unwavering, accomplishing the benefit of self and others, Inconceivable, difficult to measure. This arises from Bodhicitta. The difference between Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, Is like the ocean, a cow's footprint, and a drop of water. Just seeing the qualities of those who abide on the ground, The qualities of Hearers and Solitary Realizers are like dust water. Even by that much, benefit is obtained, But the happiness of the gods is actual suffering. What need to mention other sentient beings? Such qualities and so on, If the faculties are not interrupted, Seeing, hearing, remembering, and knowing are possible, Only for a temporary time.

If one can expend body and life for desires, then at all times, both temporary and ultimate, why can't one accomplish the sacred Dharma, which achieves the benefit of oneself and others? Without past merit, there is no way to deal with involuntary karma. When gods and humans with autonomy open treasure troves of jewels, it is the time to enjoy them that has come. The qualities of the great Buddha, praised by the perfect Buddha, arouse devotion just by hearing, purify sins just by remembering, and obtain merits just by seeing. What need is there to mention practicing them? A rotten seed has no sprout. Dharma does not come to those without faith. Therefore, faith in desire is like water for the thirsty. Generate effort in the Buddha's Dharma. Generate devotion and respect like a child seeing its mother. Obtain definite understanding from the depths of your heart. Believe without doubt, like tasting the flavor of food. Establish unwavering faith as the source. On the good ground of faith, the Bodhi tree is cultivated. Enter fully into the Victorious One's teachings. Attain the sacred Bodhi. It is meaningless if you do not realize this. Although the essence of Bodhi pervades all, it is also accumulated as great merit in past lives. Those whose accumulated merit is exhausted in this life, resemble the eight unfree states. Even if you obtain a human body, you are of the kind who miss the opportunity. Although the five active faculties are clear, they are ignorant of the sacred meaning. In this life, they are bound by the miserliness of craving. Hatred and anger never cease. They do not abandon worldly gain and fame. They do not turn their minds away from perversion. They are constantly tormented by illness and suffering. Obstacles are endless and always come. Those who are discouraged, lazy, and powerless are vessels without Dharma, a lineage of broken roots. They are of low intelligence, live in small places, gather rumors and gossip, are easily satisfied with Dharma, and quickly become arrogant. They desire comfort and cannot endure hardship. They have little compassion and cannot bear difficulties. They are attached to biased views. They cannot distinguish between Dharma and non-Dharma. They do not understand the meaning of the six extremes of words. They have little certainty and great wrong views. They praise themselves and disparage others, thinking they are wise. They despise cause and effect and lack altruism. They are not of the Mahayana lineage. They are the childish Dharma of the Hearers of small power. In the Mahayana, which is like the sky, the Hinayana is gathered like a fist. Just as a bad seed does not sprout, those with broken roots cannot accomplish meaning. It is the ripening of meager merit.
