Alas, listen, great mighty one! These words of my teachings reside in the minds of all sentient beings. All these aggregates of afflictions, they are bound in samsara, obscuring the great bliss itself, so these are not to be abandoned. If one does not realize suchness, yoga is like the body and its shadow. The two, co-emergent ignorance and wisdom, from which that itself arises naturally, so abandoning is not abandoning. Likewise, that basis is not changed by purification, nor does it change by alteration. Because of not realizing the unchanging essence of wisdom, like an unpurifiable stone or jade, it cannot be purified and pacified. In places that are naturally pure, it is examined by those who possess yoga. Likewise, it is not naturally pure, nor is it peace itself. Without knowing the manifestation of directly perceived higher wisdom, like Mount Meru, the king of mountains, cannot be changed and pacified. No one can destroy it, nor can it be done through effort. If one does not understand that these antidotes are beyond conditions, one cannot be liberated. Without seeking self-purification, like wanting to clarify muddy water, the appearance of turbidity increases greatly, so clarifying outwardly is impossible. That itself is not the nature of afflictions. Without knowing that self-appearing wisdom naturally unfolds in clarity, like the appearance of ordinary fools is not changed by philosophical tenets, it is not the reversal of clinging to appearances. Alas, mighty one, also listen! These are two stages of wisdom, those with effort and afflictions, and those without effort. Those with effort remain in their own place, through the measure of familiar appearances, when the appearance of pure wisdom, arises naturally in all places, inside and out, it is not born from conditions. No matter how long afflictions exist, even if they have arisen, self-abiding, self-liberated, they liberate themselves. Therefore, it is the appearance of yoga. Those without effort are like this: without an antidote from oneself, so self-liberation is in oneself. One's own original ignorance, ignorance itself is self-liberated. Like iron itself counteracts, iron itself is the wing, like breaking stones with stones. Oneself as the antidote, oneself is most supreme. The realization of the naturally perfect great perfection is most supreme. Like this, whatever one practices, without seeking, by abiding, one finds the meaning of self-appearing things. Without meditating, the nature of great bliss increases, the wisdom of the nature of reality
