It is the awareness that arises in all directions. There are two kinds of objects: the objects of things and the objects of emptiness. The Inconceivable Intelligence again asked: O Blessed One! What are the objects of things? What are the objects of emptiness? Please tell me. Then the Blessed One said: O Inconceivable Intelligence, listen again! These are the objects of things: the appearance of form as six objects, and the appearance of sound, smell, taste, dharma, and touch, and the appearance of all the great elements as one totality of four, and the appearance of faith in those different causes of entry. The objects of emptiness are all emptiness, and all awareness that is free from grasping at extremes such as existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation. There are two kinds of non-objects: those that transcend extremes, and those that transcend the views of existence and non-existence. The Inconceivable Intelligence again asked: O Blessed One! What is meant by "transcending extremes"? What is meant by "non-object that transcends views"? Please tell me. Then the Teacher again said: O great Inconceivable Intelligence, listen! What is meant by "transcending extremes" is not grasping at things as self. Again he asked: What is it that does not grasp at things as self? He replied: All dharmas are unconditioned. Again he asked: What is the nature of what is called "all dharmas are unconditioned"? He replied: It is called the awareness that all dharmas are one. Again he asked: What is the awareness of oneness? He replied: It is the cessation of the doors of arising and feeling. Again he asked: What is the cessation of the doors of arising and feeling? It is naturally luminous. Again he asked: What is naturally luminous? He replied: It is that all objects are completely pure. Again he asked: What is meant by "all objects are completely pure"? He replied: It is knowing the characteristic of the exhaustion of all dharmas. Again he asked: O Blessed One! In that case, what is it that transcends views? He replied: What transcends views is called inexpressible. Again he asked: What is that? He replied: It is what transcends all causes and conditions. Again he asked: What is it that is liberated from all causes and conditions? He replied: It is what does not differentiate in any extreme. Again he asked: What is it that does not differentiate in any extreme? He

Granted. That is beyond all calculations. It is beyond actions and efforts. It is beyond all biases and spontaneously perfect. Then, again, the Inconceivable Capable One spoke thus: Alas! Alas! Bhagavan, since that is the case, what are the afflictions? What is the meaning of not understanding those? What is wrong understanding like? What is biased understanding? I do not know these, please Bhagavan speak, Teacher please grant your teachings. Emaho! Great Inconceivable Capable One, listen. There are six afflictions: Ignorance, which is grasping at the aspect of the fundamental mistaken thought. Stupidity is confused from the aspect of wisdom. Hatred is confused from the aspect of the generation stage. Pride is confused from the aspect of view. Desire is confused from the aspect of appearance. Jealousy is confused from the aspect of non-discrimination. Those and so on are the afflictions: the mind that grasps at thoughts, the mind that grasps at memories, the connecting habitual patterns, and the discrimination that is the basis of all doubts, and the aspects of grasping at objects and things, etc., are immeasurable. The meaning of not understanding those is: from ordinary beings to Anu and below. Wrong understanding is the tirthikas, clinging to the extremes of existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation, that is, the ego-grasping, viewing permanence and annihilation, and all views that cling to self, in short, from the Shravakas and some Ati and below, there are views that cling to speculation, there are views that cling to permanence and annihilation, there are views that cling to having consciousness, and so on. Biased understanding is the Shravakas and Buddhas, etc., that is, the nine vehicles in order. The Inconceivable Capable One again said: Alas! Alas! Great Vajradhara. Are those things that the Teacher himself previously taught to be abandoned? Are they to be purified? Are they to be transformed? Are they to be left to self-extinguish? Are each of those subdued by their respective antidotes? Are they established in one's own system? Is that itself the nature? Are those self-liberated by themselves? I do not understand the meaning of these. Please, Teacher, Great Compassionate One, speak. Then Vajradhara taught:
