Again asked: Alas, alas, Bhagavan, what is the meditation with mind on gods and so on? What is the meditation of the mind of the Mahayana practitioners? What is the necessity of the Buddhas? Please tell me. Then he spoke again: Alas, alas, Great Hero, listen. By focusing the mind on the letter A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A). The attachment to things naturally dissolves. By focusing the mind on the deity of generation, the impurities of the body are purified. With the song of the Vajra of speech, one satisfies his mind. By focusing the mind on the letter Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྂ, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum), the impurities of his speech are purified. Who holds the mind on Ram (Tibetan: རྂ, Devanagari: रं, Romanized Sanskrit: raṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Ram)? He purifies all things. When the mind dwells on the letter Ha (Tibetan: ཧ, Devanagari: ह, Romanized Sanskrit: ha, Literal Chinese meaning: Ha), all ignorance ceases. Whoever focuses the mind on Phat (Tibetan: ཕཊ, Devanagari: फट, Romanized Sanskrit: phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: Phat)? He abandons the harm to body and speech. Whoever meditates on the bindu between the eyebrows, this becomes accustomed to the winds. The nine holes naturally arise. By holding the mind on La (Tibetan: ལ, Devanagari: ल, Romanized Sanskrit: la, Literal Chinese meaning: La), he blocks the doors of the senses. Whoever is accustomed to the tip of the nose, gathers the increasing elements into oneself. Whoever meditates on the self-light of the body, this becomes accustomed to the Bardo ground. Whoever throws the mind into the sky, he becomes accustomed to emptiness. Whoever holds the mind in the ear, this enjoys all sounds as desired. Whoever holds the mind in the heart, this makes thoughts naturally clear. Whoever dwells in emptiness, this stops the attachment to things. Whoever meditates on the astonishment of emptiness, all thoughts are empty in an instant. Whoever meditates on the non-conceptual mind, this reverses the attachment to samsara. If one holds the mind on the five elements, from this the signs of the body arise. Whoever meditates on non-conceptual wisdom, this stops the attachment to signs. Whoever meditates on the bliss of two entries, this turns desire into the path. Whoever turns the intermediate state into the path, this also gains power over the mind. Alas, alas, Great Hero, listen. The meditation of the Mahayana practitioners is, with the meditation of the power of nature, the uncorrected body and speech naturally abide. With the meditation that relies on the object continuum, one can suppress the heads of sudden afflictions. With the meditation that dwells on the ground, one nourishes one's own continuum. Non-conceptual hero, listen, the intention of the Sugata is twofold, abiding without correction stops the arising feelings, viewing without meditation obtains warmth.
