Thus it was said. From the Sky Burning Tantra, the chapter on teaching the key instructions for liberation, which is the twenty-first. Then, Self-Arisen Natural Purity asked the Nameless All-Liberating Teacher: How are the various appearances of the mind gathered into one essential point? After the question, the Teacher instructed the assembly: The appearances of the mind are inconceivable, I will gather those appearances and explain them. Those appearances are: The five winds of the base are the appearances of the mind. The five elements and five lights are the appearances of the mind. The five lights and five rays are the appearances of the mind. Knowing and not knowing are the appearances of the mind. Awareness and unawareness are the appearances of the mind. Emptiness, clarity, and non-obstruction are the appearances of the mind. Self-nature emptiness and great compassion are the appearances of the mind. The three poisons, three bodies, and three wheels of mind are the appearances of the mind. Arising gate and delusion gate are the appearances of the mind. The separate delusions of mind and consciousness are the appearances of the mind. The five aggregates, the result of delusion, are the appearances of the mind. Realization and non-realization are the appearances of the mind. Buddhas and sentient beings are the appearances of the mind. Samsara and nirvana are the appearances of the mind. Existence and phenomena, vessel and essence, are the appearances of the mind. Men, women, plants, and forests are the appearances of the mind. The phenomena of existence and non-existence are the appearances of the mind. Thus it was said. Gathering into one essential point is: The eighty-four thousand teachings, all gather into the Great Perfection, the general cutting and general holding. All phenomena fabricated by the mind, all gather into the Great Nameless beyond mind. These inconceivable phenomena, all gather into the nature of the Great Non-Thought. All phenomena of vessel and essence, existence and phenomena, all gather into boundless and limitless liberation. Thus it was said. From the Sky Burning Tantra, the chapter on gathering into one essential point, which is the twenty-second. Then, Self-Arisen Natural Purity asked the Nameless Teacher, All-Liberator: Where is the rope of the mind cut? After the question, the Teacher instructed the assembly: Cut in the unborn and unshown. Cut in the essential, unchanging. Cut in the Dharmakaya, free from conditions. Cut in the unreal, like space. Cut in the unmade, beyond mind. Cut in the nameless, beyond expression. In the boundless

Ah, it is decided to liberate. It is decided to be infinitely deep. It is decided to be the great Dharma-nature, primordially pure. It is also decided to be without substance. It is also decided to be without grasping. It is also decided to be without object-mind. It is decided to be without negation, affirmation, rejection, or acceptance. Thus it was said. From the Tantra of Blazing Sky, Chapter on Deciding the Mind, the Twenty-third Chapter. Then, Self-Arisen Natural Purity, to the Teacher of All Liberation Without Name, asked: Where should the 'La' of the mind be recited? The Teacher then instructed the assembly: The 'La' of the mind should be recited in the realm of Dharma-nature. The 'La' of the mind should be recited in the realm of essence. The 'La' of the mind should be recited in the emptiness of non-things. The 'La' of the mind should be recited in the unconditioned reality. The 'La' of the mind should be recited without a basis. The 'La' of the mind should be recited without birth. The 'La' of the mind should be recited in the great nameless beyond-mind. The 'La' of the mind should be recited without Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. The 'La' of the mind should be recited without the five bodies and five wisdoms. Recite 'La' without awareness, mind, and thought. Recite 'La' without the Great Vehicle, Dharma, and philosophical tenets. Recite 'La' without appearance, awareness, or moving mind. Thus it was said. From the Tantra of Blazing Sky, Chapter on Teaching the Recitation of the 'La' of the Mind, the Twenty-fourth Chapter. Then, Self-Arisen Natural Purity, to the Teacher of All Liberation Without Name, asked: How does one ultimately settle the nature of mind? The Teacher then instructed the assembly: Settle ultimately in the cutting of delusion and the awakening of discrimination. Settle ultimately in the exhaustion of mind and the absence of memory. Settle ultimately in the absence of Dharma and Vehicle. Settle ultimately in the absence of experiences, signs, and clairvoyance. Settle ultimately in the absence of lineage, the loss of mind, and clear light. Settle ultimately in the first primordial beginning. Settle ultimately in the secret of Dharma-nature. Settle ultimately in the spontaneously accomplished essence, Dharmakaya. Settle ultimately in the primordial purity of the beginning. Settle ultimately in the unchanging light of the beginning. Settle ultimately in the light without manipulation. Settle ultimately in the light without radiating, gathering, increasing, or decreasing. Settle ultimately in the nameless, empty expanse. Settle ultimately in the liberation of boundaries. Settle ultimately in the infinite depth. Settle ultimately in the beyond-mind, free from extremes. Settle ultimately in the non-distracted, unfathomable, non-existent emptiness. Thus it was said. From the Tantra of Blazing Sky, Settling the Nature of Mind Ultimately.
