The Dharmata Bodhicitta of the past. By abiding in this inexpressible, beyond-discourse state, That yogi who realizes the unconditioned Dharmata, Is fortunate due to the union of karma and compassion. By abiding in the meaning that is beyond discourse and inexpressible, Since there is no birth, there is no need to seek benefit for oneself. Since it is inexpressible, one does not act for others, Since Dharmata is illusory, there is no need to seek, it is spontaneously accomplished, Enjoying the realm of Dharmata that abides in its own nature. Therefore, this is the reason for the greatness of "That is it." The greatness of "no Buddha" is that, For the Buddhas of the three times and the sentient beings of the three realms, The Bodhicitta, which has not been shown and is supremely secret, The Sugata's ear of wisdom has never heard before. The sense of hearing of sentient beings has never heard before. Likewise, the tongue of the teacher, Has never proclaimed to the Sugatas with speech. Likewise, the tongue of the individual, Has never expressed in words to sentient beings. Therefore, it is proclaimed as the greatness of "no Buddha." Thus it is said. From the Sutra of Distinction. The explanation of the meaning has been taught, that is, the Sutra of Distinction is complete. Then again, that great Bodhisattva, In order to eliminate the faults and merits for those in the assembled retinue, Who have not heard the meaning of the Great Perfection, Spoke this Sutra that indicates the wrong paths and obscurations. O assembled great gathering, listen now! The six vehicles that have attained certainty, Are the places of straying from the Great Perfection, It is taught that they obscure the attainment of certainty in Dzogchen. The Kriya, Upaya, Yoga, Mahayoga, and Anu, These six are the places of straying from the Great Perfection. How do they become wrong paths? The Bodhisattva of the Sutra, Desiring the ground of All-Illuminating Light, By conceptually analyzing with the two truths, Conceives of Dharmata emptiness as space. The Great Bliss of Atiyoga, Is the Bodhicitta that transcends conceptual analysis, The Sutra obscures that which transcends conceptual analysis. The conceptual analysis and deliberation of Dzogchen, It is taught that they become wrong paths in the Sutras. The Kriya desiring Vajradhara, Having entered the door of the three purities, Holds the purity of Dharmata, Abiding in the realm of the purity of grasper and grasped. The Great Bliss of Atiyoga, Is the Bodhicitta that transcends grasper and grasped, The Kriya obscures that which transcends grasper and grasped. The grasper and grasped of Dzogchen, It is taught that they become wrong paths in the Kriya. The view and conduct of Upaya
