Same. From the door of words of non-understanding, In accordance with whatever is pleasing, It is said to be shown in accordance with wisdom. The essence of self-originated purity, Has neither designator nor designated. Realize through effortless, self-originated nature itself. Ordinary, self-continuum consciousness, Is counted as the number of difficult things, And placed in a state of effortlessness. There is no end to hope, fear, and effort. This unattached, self-originated great medicine, Cures the diseases of clinging to samsara. This essence of self-originated purity, Is not obtained through going or doing. The very fruit of effortless self-origination, Perfects itself in the intention without going. From the beginning, without grasping, spontaneously accomplished. Like a great garuda soaring in the sky, Without expanding or contracting, therefore without effort. Free from the desire for attachment and effort, Without applying the mind, there is no hope. Knowledge is vast, without partiality. This wisdom, beyond thought, Is the unchanging, self-originated essence. Thus it was said. From the Tantra of the Self-Appearing Wheel of Wisdom, The first chapter, the introduction. Then, to Vajrasattva, The King of Awareness spoke again: The self-originated essence is immutable, The unchanging wisdom pervades like space. Thus it was said. Vajrasattva also asked: In the self-originated, primordially pure, How does the consciousness of samsara arise? Thus he spoke. The King of Awareness bestowed his word: The self-originated is primordially pure, And from non-understanding, various samsaras arise. Thus it was said. Vajrasattva also asked: The various samsaras of non-understanding, How do they delude? The fault of conceptualization of cause and condition is the basis of delusion, Like eyes with cataracts, Like hairs falling in the sky, False conceptualization of cause and condition are the four delusions, From delusion arises ignorance. Vajrasattva again requested: Does ignorance exist in the ground or not? Thus he asked. The King of Awareness bestowed his word: The essence of meaning is without delusion, And conceptualization arises, grasping various things. For example, seeing a snake in a rope, In the essence of the rope, there is no snake, Without cause, the object is seen as a snake. Thus it was said. Vajrasattva also asked: Delusion arises from ignorance, What is its characteristic? He bestowed his word: Its characteristic is adventitious, For example, in a clear mirror, Whatever condition is shown is adventitious, Likewise

In the self-illuminating nature of reality, The appearance of grasping is sudden. When the habitual tendencies are slightly disturbed, The realization of mistaken self-grasping is mixed in. Grasping appears in various forms within one's own mindstream. In the empty nature of reality, like the sky, Sudden images are obscured by clouds. The nature of reality is like a lotus leaf on water, Sudden impurities are mixed in by focusing on objects. When the habitual tendencies are slightly disturbed, A stump appears as a person. The stump is not actually a person, Yet it is seen as a person in that way. If the stump were truly a person, Why wouldn't it be seen by the accurate ones? When the illusion of causes and conditions slightly appears, Various kinds of clinging to what is true arise. Thus it is said. From the Secret Tantra of the Wheel of Wisdom, The Second Chapter: The Aspect of Confusion of Ignorance. Vajrasattva then asked: What is the nature of the confusion of ignorance? How is it reversed? The King of Awareness replied: The way to reverse ignorance is: Through the appearance of affirmation and negation, It is reversed from the condition of the object of focus. The self-illuminating, non-grasping nature of reality, Is reversed from the condition of the cause of equalizing action. Grasping is self-liberated and pure, It is reversed from the condition of the confusion of the three times. The ground where impartial one goes, Is reversed from the mother of the two, cause and effect. Because the intention has meaning for oneself and others, It is reversed from the subtle aspects of mental fabrication. This essence of the great vehicle of thusness, Is reversed from the extremes of the eight self-desires. The vast, unbiased, and impartial, Is reversed from the extreme of self-desire itself. Conceptual thoughts appear in the mind, Self-arisen awareness directly cuts them. Whatever clings to the cause of habitual tendencies, Is reversed by the nature of non-clinging, free from elaboration. Thus it is said. From the Secret Tantra of the Wheel of Wisdom, The Third Chapter: The Way to Reverse Confusion. Then the King of Awareness spoke: This view of pure self-arising is thus. The realm of the unequaled, pure, and stainless, The sky of wisdom is spontaneously accomplished. Because the self-arising realm is not realized, What arises from elsewhere is not Dharma. Accomplishment arises from its own nature, In the wisdom that abides as it is, There is no need to apply effortful cause and effect. The vehicles of gradual effort of the mind, Are taught for the sake of guidance. Thus, when stirred by conceptual thought, The self-arising essence does not waver. Without differentiation, it is the supreme of views, It is the nature beyond cause and effect. Originally pure, there is no need to do anything.
