appear. Rainbows and light and vapors appear. Sounds and mists and comets appear. The Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya, and Nirmanakaya also, are spontaneously accomplished without difference. The sign of purifying afflictions and obscurations is the sign of the fruition manifesting and accomplishing. The ninth chapter, the sign of purifying the defilements of the bardo. The compiler, the Lord of Secrets, Vajrasattva, asked the teacher of teachers, Samantabhadra, about the method of purifying the aggregates of the body of the deceased. What is the benefit of purifying that body? The teacher of teachers, Samantabhadra, replied that there are three methods for purifying the aggregates of the body: purifying with the wisdom fire deity, purifying with seed syllables and mantras, and purifying with the samadhi of dharmata. There are two types of wisdom fire deities: the samaya fire deity and the wisdom fire deity. Purifying with the samaya fire deity is: in the nature of dharmata, the nature of space, that great wisdom of awareness is also, from the mind of non-grasping and non-conceptualization, the self-arisen wisdom fire blazes, and the habitual tendencies of conceptualization dissolve into space. Purifying with the wisdom fire deity is: from the time of beginninglessness, there is no duality of born and unborn, in that wisdom abiding in oneself, by abiding in equanimity, the body itself is purified. All the conceptualizations and habitual tendencies of the body dissolve into the nature of dharmata, into space. The fire of the elements burns the body. Purifying with seed syllables and mantras is: contemplate two yaṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:यं,梵文罗马拟音:yaṃ,字面意思:扬) at the soles of both feet. Contemplate raṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:रं,梵文罗马拟音:raṃ,字面意思:让) at the secret gate. Contemplate the seed syllables of the six realms at the navel. On the seat of phaṭ (藏文,梵文天城体:फट्,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,字面意思:啪) at the heart, contemplate the essence of body, speech, and mind. From yaṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:यं,梵文罗马拟音:yaṃ,字面意思:扬) arises the wisdom wind, from raṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:रं,梵文罗马拟音:raṃ,字面意思:让) the wisdom fire blazes, burning all the habitual tendencies of the six realms. Body, speech, and mind transform into body, speech, and mind. With phaṭ (藏文,梵文天城体:फट्,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,字面意思:啪) hurl it into the place of dharmata. Obtain the spontaneous accomplishment of body, speech, and mind. The basis of purifying with wisdom syllables, the unborn syllable is, the undefinable dharmata. The syllable without abiding is, the unchanging wisdom. The syllable without death is, the inexpressible space. There are two types of purification with mantras: pure mantras and impure mantras. Purifying with pure mantras is, although not expressed as sounds and words, all phenomena are purified into emptiness. With this mantra of the truth of dharmata, make the conceptualizations of characteristics emp

Om. The purification by impure mantras is that all phenomena are transformed into emptiness, which is the emanation of the Sugata's speech. Body, speech, and mind, as well as qualities and activities, are purified by mantras. All the discursive thoughts and habitual tendencies of speech itself are purified by the Sugata's speech. All the discursive thoughts of the body are purified by the Sugata's body. All the discursive thoughts of the mind are purified by the great Dharmakaya. All beginningless sins and obscurations are purified by the rays of wisdom light. The purification of the Dharmata Samadhi is that the Dharmakaya is separate from the realm of emanation bodies. Since there is no duality of purification and non-purification, all phenomena are meditated upon as space. By purifying the deluded body itself, one manifestly attains enlightenment in the unborn body. This is the tenth chapter, which teaches the purification of the body. Furthermore, the Lord of Secrets, Vajrasattva, the collector, asked the teacher of teachers, Samantabhadra: "How is the mind, which is the appearance of cyclic existence and habitual tendencies, purified?" The teacher of teachers, Samantabhadra, replied: "There are three aspects to the purification of the mind: the purification of the initial mind-essence, the purification of the mind-essence in the bardo, and the purification of the abiding mind-essence." The purification of the initial mind-essence is that when the self-born wisdom essence and the unknowing space exist, from the qualities of immovability, hundreds of thousands of rays of wisdom arise, becoming various kinds of wisdom. Hundreds of thousands of deluded wisdoms arise. In order to reverse the initial wisdom, one should meditate in a state of non-thought. In order to purify the mind-essence in the bardo, when oneself becomes obscured, one is purified by a qualified lama. One purifies through view, conduct, and meditation, and after purifying, one enters the path. There are three aspects to purifying through view: The purification through the view of Dharmata is that all phenomena are Dharmakaya, and all of samsara and nirvana are Dharmakaya without inside or outside, uncreated, which is space. The purification through the view of wisdom is that all phenomena are one, and without this desire, it is wisdom. All causes and effects are wisdom without thought. The purification through the view of compassion is that all appearances of self and other are, with undifferentiated compassion, the wisdom of awareness is absorbed into activity. The means of purifying through meditation is that when purifying through the emptiness of Dharmata, the awakened and unawakened two
