Like the clarity of dawn, and like a shooting star streaking across the sky. The analogy for wisdom swiftly entering awareness is like a golden funnel. The analogy for the appearance of wisdom's vision in the nature of reality is like a rainbow appearing in the sky. The analogy for irreversibility is like a thunderbolt and a great arrow. The analogy for complete enlightenment is like the dawning of day, clear without any valleys obstructing it, and like stars rising in the ocean, and a moon in water. The analogy for how, in the unawakened, meaning and mind are not truly present, yet mind later arises, is like how a sprout is not truly present in a seed, yet later it emerges. The analogy for how the emanation body accomplishes aims and is liberated into its own nature is like a stream merging into the ocean, and like the rays of the sun converging at sunset. The analogy for nirvana is like a rainbow dissolving into the sky. The analogy for different species existing in the same realm is like many butter lamps being lit, their light not being separate, yet their individual essences being clearly distinct. The analogy for one awareness perfecting various skills is like how from one seed a trunk and branches grow separately, and then ears of grain appear on those branches, ultimately yielding many fruits. The analogy for liberation from one's own ground into one's own ground, and abiding indivisibly in one's own ground, is like releasing a cut-off portion of the sky. The analogy for the four extremes: liberation from one and other, like gold and the color yellow. Non-liberation is like a mirage and a moon in water. Liberation within non-liberation is like a container and a vase. Non-liberation within liberation is like the sun and its rays. The symbolic analogy for wisdom being clear in itself is like a drunkard feeling intoxicated from drinking alcohol. The analogy for meditating without conceptual thought yet not being liberated is like a painting or a mural. The analogy for how, within a jewel box, realization is self-illuminating yet unseen by others is like many guests gathering in a spacious room at night and falling asleep. The analogy for how, initially, delusion arises from the jewel box is like a child seeing a reflection in a mirror, not recognizing it as their own face, and mistaking it for someone else's. The analogy for how, later, delusion no longer arises from the jewel box is like a child growing up and recognizing their own face, or like a crop ripening and no longer turning green. Son of lineage, the nature of the analogies is that the meaning of each symbol is presented as it is.

The definition of simile is: in order to represent through similar aspects. The divisions are: simile representing the base, simile representing power, simile representing liberation, and simile representing non-duality. The necessity is: to realize the meaning. Thus it is said. From the Great Treatise of All-Illuminating Bindu. In general, teaching the meaning and so forth, which is the ninetieth chapter. Then, again the Lord of Secrets asked: Kye kye, Bhagavan Vajradhara, how is the manner of nirvana? Thus he asked. The Teacher replied: The manner of the Buddha's nirvana, I have mentioned briefly before, but if you have not understood it clearly, I will explain it in detail, listen well. By raising wisdom into the sky, it moves with the power of non-movement. By the elements dissolving into the mother, the characteristics are liberated in their own place. By dissolving into the realm of wisdom, it shows the power dissolving into the base. By wisdom swirling in the sky, it shows the self-clarity of the three kayas and wisdom. By awareness grasping its own ground, it shows that the intention is unchanging. Thus it is said. Then, again the Lord of Secrets asked: Kye kye, Bhagavan Vajradhara, if the intention of the five self-born words is like that, the characteristics and names of each, and the ways of integrating them into their meaning, please explain with skillful means for the present and future practitioners. Thus he asked. The Teacher replied: Vajrapani, listen carefully. In raising wisdom into the sky, there are four kinds of characteristics and names: Powerful Mother and Force-Holding Mother, Elevating Mother and Stable Mother. Powerful Mother is appearance and unites with non-duality. That which is called Force-Holding Mother, first in the power of reason, the appearance of body and wisdom, also appears effortlessly and naturally. Finally, all the retinue dissolve into the five main ones. The five main ones also go to the precious womb. It is not moved by effort, but is naturally liberated, therefore it is Force-Holding Mother. At that time, the Dharmakaya, like a precious jewel, has no coarse dharma, the Dharmata is like the sky, and the Dharmakaya is like the sky, the two are non-dual and transparent, not sinking but abiding clearly, therefore it is Elevating Mother. Just at that time, the wind of wisdom does not move, therefore it is Stable Mother. All of these are the nature of wind, one in essence.
