Due to not knowing the definite secret door, Therefore, not understanding the meaning of Samantabhadra's conduct. Like the sun being obscured by clouds, Now listen again to the essence of the gathering. Mind itself is without effort, But it is changed by the power of thought, Drifting in the ocean of samsara, It appears that way to those who do not understand. From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, Definitive Meaning, All Gathered, Equality with the Wisdom Sky, Chapter Twelve, which teaches the two stages of generation and completion. Thereafter, to the assembled gatherings, By the All-Knowing Dharma King, Regarding the ways of erring in the Great Perfection in general, He specially bestowed teachings upon the retinue. General, confused, conceptualization, And the ways of erring by clinging to words and scriptures, I will explain the meaning to you, Listen well and hold it in your mind. The ways of erring in the Great Perfection in general, Like seeing a precious golden snake and emptiness. General, confused, conceptualization, And determining the source only in scriptural words, I will explain those errors, listen. Name is the basis for knowing only words, Hoping to be wise, one establishes terms, Like searching for the edge of meaningless space, Understanding only in words, one does not understand the meaning, Saying that words themselves are the meaning is an error. Now listen again, Vajrasattva, The error of confused splendor, Taking appearance as the basis for gathering the mind, The divisions of error are ten spontaneously accomplished, No result will arise, misunderstanding, Not in accordance with the basis, contradicting scripture, Not knowing the basis itself, one is an ordinary person. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering, The error of taking conceptualization as a deity, Like the four appearances of outer, inner, secret mantra, Erroneously desiring generation and completion in sequence, Due to not grasping the meaning, there is no result, There is no deity in the basis, no need for generation, The unborn Dharmakaya is primordially so. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering, The ways of erring by clinging to scriptural words, Only in words, the scriptures have no basis, Not understanding the three intentions, one errs, Only in words, the scriptures cannot understand the meaning, These meaningless words, Without scriptures, one can understand the meaning, one is primordially a Buddha. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering, Those four errors, Because they are the characteristics of the general, Because they contradict the basis, they deviate from the meaning, Therefore, one needs instructions and key points. From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, Definitive Meaning, All Gathered, Equality with the Wisdom Sky, Chapter Thirteen, which teaches the ways of erring in the Great Perfection in general. Summary

The third, showing the condensed meaning. Then, Vajrasattva, for the sake of the assembled circle, to the all-knowing, self-born teacher, with a mind of faith, made this request: How are the outer Great Perfection Ati's dharmas gathered into the mind? How is it obscured by the darkness of the mind? How are the mind's desires and views mistaken? How is the true meaning of one's own mind not understood? What are the examples to distinguish bad minds? How great are the faults of the eight aggregates? Please explain, all-knowing teacher. Having heard the meaning of this request, he spoke to the assembled circle: In the mind, the oneness of all dharmas is the dharma of samsara and nirvana. Both illusion and duality are the objects of experience, and although there is a difference between wrong thoughts and wisdom, the nature of the mind is naturally one. Now, Vajrasattva, listen again. This is also an example of that very nature, like clouds, rainbows, and mist, and the various manifestations of the elements, which are of one taste in the sky. The names and signs of objects are conceived by one's own mind, therefore, all outer and inner dharmas are one in the mind. Therefore, all dharmas, are one in the mind because they have no lineage. Now, Vajrasattva, listen again. This ignorant, deluded mind, desires to attain enlightenment, how pitiful, because it is deluded by itself. It is like a fool chasing shadows. From the tantra of the Great Perfection, the essence of all meanings, the equality of wisdom and space, the fourteenth chapter, which shows that all dharmas are gathered into the mind. Then, to the assembled circle, the all-knowing king spoke: This darkness of the ignorant mind is the thought of abandoning, gathering, and clinging, the habitual tendencies and afflictions are samsara, and freedom from these is the bindu of the dharmakaya. Now, Vajrasattva, listen again. When the thought of abandoning arises, the fifty-one mental factors are like stars, the arising and ceasing of the eight aggregates are like the moon, the alaya is like the clouds in the sky. In that space, there is only one bindu. For example, it is like the obscuration of sunlight. The obscurations that arise in oneself, cannot be abandoned by abandoning, like a shadow. Therefore, the thought of abandoning is mistaken. Now, listen to the essence of the gathering. When the thought of gathering arises, the action is like a swan on the seashore, the eight aggregates are like an otter catching fish, the alaya is like a great ocean, in which there is a
