Matches. From the door of words of non-understanding, In any agreeable way, It is said to be shown in accordance with wisdom. The nature of self-arisen purity, Has no signifier or signified whatsoever. Effortlessly, self-arisen naturally realized. The ordinary self-continuum consciousness, Is regarded as the number of difficult things, Abiding in a state of effortlessness. There is no edge of hope, fear, or effort. This unattached, self-arisen great medicine, Cures the diseases of clinging to samsara. This nature of self-arisen purity, Is not obtained through practice. The very fruit of effortless self-arisenness, The meaning without practice is perfected within oneself. From the beginning, unattached, spontaneously accomplished. Like a great garuda soaring in the sky, Without expansion or contraction, there is no effort. Free from the desire for effort in attachment, Without applying the mind, there is no hope. Knowledge is vast, without partiality. This inconceivable wisdom, Is the nature of unchanging self-arisenness. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of the Self-Appearing Wheel of Wisdom, The introductory chapter, the first. Then, to Vajrasattva, The King of Awareness spoke again: In the unchanging essence of self-arisenness, The unchanging wisdom pervades like space. Thus it is said. Vajrasattva also asked: In the self-arisen, primordially pure, How does the consciousness of samsara arise? Thus it was said. The King of Awareness replied: Self-arisen, primordially pure, From non-understanding, various samsaras arise. Thus it is said. Vajrasattva also asked: Various samsaras arise from non-understanding, How does it delude? The fault of conceptualization of cause and condition is the basis of delusion. For example, like an eye with cataracts, Like hairs falling in the sky. Reversed conceptualization of cause and condition is the cause of delusion. Delusion causes ignorance to arise. Vajrasattva again asked: Does ignorance exist on the ground or not? Thus he asked. The King of Awareness replied: The nature of reality is without delusion, Conceptualization arises, grasping various things. For example, a rope is seen as a snake, In the nature of the rope, there is no snake, Without cause, the object is seen as a snake. Thus it is said. Vajrasattva again asked: Delusion arises from ignorance, What is its characteristic? He replied: Its characteristic is sudden, For example, in a clear mirror, Whatever appears is a sudden condition. Like that.

The nature of reality is inherently clear, the appearance of grasping is sudden. When habitual tendencies are reversed and slightly agitated, it is obscured by the deluded realization of self-grasping. Grasping appears as various individual continuums. The nature of reality is like the empty sky, a sudden image is obscured by clouds. The nature of reality is like a drop of water, a sudden turbidity is obscured by an object. When habitual tendencies are reversed and slightly agitated, it appears as a rope mistaken for a person. The rope is not actually a person, but it is seen as a person. If the rope were truly a person, why would the wise not see it? When the illusion of cause and condition appears, it leads to attachment to various things as real. Thus it is said. From the Secret Tantra of the Wheel of Wisdom, the second chapter, The Nature of the Illusion of Ignorance. Vajrasattva then asked, "The nature of the illusion of ignorance, how is it reversed?" The King of Awareness replied, "The way to reverse ignorance is to reverse the appearance of affirmation and negation from the condition of the object of focus. The self-illuminating, non-grasping nature of reality is reversed from the condition of the cause of equanimity. Grasping, self-liberated and pure, is reversed from the condition of the illusion of the three times. The ground of unimpeded, spontaneous activity is reversed from the mother of both cause and effect. The meaning of benefiting oneself and others is reversed from the subtle actions of conceptualization. This essential heart of the Great Vehicle is reversed from the edge of the eight extremes of self-desire. Vast and impartial, it is reversed from the edge of self-desire itself. The self-appearance of conceptual thought in the mind is directly cut by self-arisen awareness. Whatever is clung to as the cause of habitual tendencies is reversed by the nature of non-attachment and non-separation." Thus it is said. From the Secret Tantra of the Wheel of Wisdom, the third chapter, The Way to Reverse Illusion. Then, the King of Awareness spoke this pure, self-arisen view. The unequaled, pure, original realm, the wisdom of space, is spontaneously accomplished. Because the self-arisen realm is not realized, what arises from elsewhere is not Dharma. Accomplishment arises from its own nature, and in the wisdom that abides as it is, there is no need for the cause and effect of effort. The vehicles of gradual effort and mind are taught for the sake of guidance. If it is stirred by conceptual thought, the essence of self-arisenness will not be shaken. Without differentiation is the supreme of views, it is the nature that transcends cause and effect. From the beginning, there is no need to fabricate.
