The second chapter, named "Action". Then, the truth should be spoken. By what can the tenets of the Mind-Only Abiding Self be dispelled? By what can the truth of that nature be clarified? External objects do not exist. Like the imaginations of children. The mind stirred by imprints, Attaches greatly to appearances as things. It does not act on external objects, That action is the mind itself. Because things are common, And consciousness is the opposite of that. For those who desire to be ordained, Regarding the same corpse of a woman, There are sayings of "corpse", "play", "food", Three kinds of discriminations arise. Whatever appears, That is self-awareness, this is what is said. Because appearances are not different, Therefore it is not a thing, that is not consciousness. Whatever form appears, That is the appearance of consciousness. Consciousness is like a crystal ball, One can also become many. Therefore, that is liberation, That is Mind-Only. The true limit is also that, That is suchness, that is emptiness. Because all phenomena are included within, Therefore it is not far nor absent. That is difficult to realize, Therefore, its nature is action. By the Buddha who sees subtly, That is subtle, therefore it is self-awareness. The coarse mind similar to self, Also cannot see its own place. Thus, various consciousnesses, Whoever is a good speaker, Who speaks well of their own tenets, That nature should be spoken to them. This saying of all being Mind-Only, For the benefit of the Hearers, Is taught for the sake of guidance, Not for the definitive meaning. Consciousness is what has become before and after, The nature of self-awareness in an instant. By the combination of not abiding and abiding, A self-nature similar to that does not exist. The previous instant is destroyed, Because it does not meet, there is no subsequent. What arises now does not abide, Therefore, Mind-Only does not exist. By common and commonness, Consciousness truly abides, It is called non-commonness, This is the inverted attachment of children. The nature of realization, Is the common nature of consciousness. Because it is inseparable from distinction, Therefore it abides in commonness. Appearing or not appearing, That is only the mind itself, By the nature of things and non-things, It appears in the sky. Pillars, houses, and pots, etc.

Sapa! Just as the sky pervades everywhere, Likewise, the nature of Dharma also pervades, The Dharmakaya abides pervadingly. Whether external objects exist or not, The mind is the appearance of things. Thus, the small wisdom, Is not spoken of as awareness by awareness. Pervading, vast, pure, and, Without beginning or end, unmanifest. The wisdom of all self-nature, Should be known as the great sky. Therefore, they are of one side, The Mind-Only proponents greatly praise, The realm of the sky is the greatness of mind, They are the place of great compassion. From the great tantra called "The Source of Life," the third chapter called "Explanation of the Yogachara School." Furthermore, what is to be said, the stages of the Bodhisattva path, How, having abandoned one's own tenets, Enter into the vast sky? All things are without self-nature, Because they are separate from one and many. Like reflections, they also, Are completely separated from being the same or different. Because their pervasiveness is imperceptible, The true nature of the analyzed nature of things, Has no real essence. Because it does not exist, they also do not exist. Appearing or not appearing, How can emptiness not exist? Appearing or not appearing, Likewise, things also do not exist. Like a mirage in the summer, When a wild animal grasps for water, The appearance on the mind's object, In that, things have no reality. These aggregates have no essence, But truly arise from discrimination. By what is named emptiness, That discrimination is also emptiness. Internally viewing as essence, Externally also viewing as emptiness. By what one meditates on emptiness, That also, some do not exist. Non-thought, meditation, what is to be thought, Abandoning and seeing the truth, These are only discriminations, Whoever is like that will be liberated. Form is spoken of as like a bubble, Feeling is like a blister, Perception is like a mirage, Volition is like a plantain tree, Consciousness is like an illusion. The elements are like eye disease, The faculties and the objects are, Like a city of gandharvas. Thus, whoever are Madhyamikas, What is said is not supreme, By the fault of the side of annihilation, The intelligence of children is like that. Appearance is the nature of illusion, At that time, it turns to the side of permanence.
