Thus it was spoken. The unconfused nature of mind is the unfabricated nature of mind, like Soma, naturally blended. The mind-nature free from self-grasping is the ungrasping, clear, and radiant Buddha. The mind-nature liberated from signs and appearances is the unconfused, pure wisdom. That which is included by the intellect and pacified by wishes is the mind-nature without wishes. Thus it was said. From the Tantra of the Union of Appearances and Existence, the Essence of Nectar, which severs the beginning and end of Samsara, the chapter on showing the unconfused mind-nature, the eighty-fifth chapter. Then, Vajrasattva asked Kuntuzangpo: "How are the appearances of the mind?" Kuntuzangpo replied: "The appearances of the mind are inconceivable; both Samsara and Nirvana are appearances of the mind. Buddhas and sentient beings are appearances of the mind. Appearances and existence, the container and its contents, are appearances of the mind. The forms of living beings are appearances of the mind. The eighty-four thousand dharmas are appearances of the mind. The nine successive vehicles are appearances of the mind. Realization and non-realization are appearances of the mind. Awareness and unawareness are appearances of the mind. All are non-dual, without distinction, but due to the delusion of ignorance, they appear as two to the mind. If one knows and realizes, then the nature is completely equal. Although the appearances of the mind are inconceivable, if one knows them equally, then one is equal to all the Buddhas." Thus it was said. The chapter briefly showing the appearances of the mind, the eighty-sixth chapter. Then, Vajrasattva asked Kuntuzangpo: "How are appearances summarized in words?" After this request, Kuntuzangpo replied: "Inconceivable appearances are summarized in the mind. What is seen and the seer are summarized in the mind. What is meditated upon and the meditator are summarized in the mind. What is practiced and the practitioner are summarized in the mind. What is accomplished and the accomplisher are summarized in the mind. What is protected and the protector are summarized in the mind. What is sought and the seeker are summarized in the mind. The eighty-four thousand dharmas are summarized in the mind. The nine successive vehicles are summarized in the mind. The conceptual appearances of mind and intellect are summarized in the mind. They are not summarized by effort; they have been summarized in that way from the very beginning. For example, like water droplets in the ocean, they arise from the ocean and return to the ocean. They are not summarized after being made; they have been summarized in that way from the beginning." Thus it was said. The Essence of Nectar of the Union of Appearances and Existence.

Drop. From the Tantra of Cutting the Beginning and End of Samsara, Chapter Eighty-Seven, which summarizes the appearances of the mind. Then Vajrasattva asked Kuntuzangpo, "Please explain the unmistaken and definitive key instructions." Upon this request, Kuntuzangpo replied, "The unmistaken and definitive key instructions are: The bodhichitta that cannot be pointed out, rest in the state of being beyond words. The bodhichitta that cannot be shown, rest in the state beyond the intellect. The bodhichitta that cannot be seen, rest in the state without an object or subject of viewing. The bodhichitta that cannot be thought of, rest in the state without meditation. The bodhichitta that cannot be practiced, rest in the state without seeking action. The bodhichitta that cannot be accomplished, rest in the state of naturally clear and self-liberated nature. Rest in the state without hope, fear, or accomplishment. The bodhichitta without elaboration, rest in the state of great freedom from elaboration. The nectar essence drop of the union of appearance and existence. From the Tantra of Cutting the Beginning and End of Samsara, Chapter Eighty-Eight, which teaches the unmistaken and definitive key instructions. Then Vajrasattva asked Kuntuzangpo, "How are the five poisons liberated into the mind?" Upon this request, Kuntuzangpo replied, "The liberation of the five poisons into the mind is: Ignorance is shown in the nature of reality, delusion is delusion in the dharma of characteristics, therefore the nature of mind is ignorance. Desire is desire for the unborn dharmakaya, attachment is attachment to the realm of great bliss, therefore the nature of mind is desire. Anger is anger from the realm of dharmata, hatred is hatred for the dharma of samsara, therefore the nature of mind is anger. I am the unborn bodhichitta, victory is victory over the army of samsara, therefore the nature of mind is pride. Jealousy is jealousy of the unchanging dharmadhatu, doubt is doubt about the five poisons of desire and anger, therefore the nature of mind is jealousy. The five poisons are the unborn bodhichitta." Thus he spoke. From the Tantra of the Union of Appearance and Existence, Chapter Eighty-Nine, which liberates the five poisons into dharmata. Then Vajrasattva asked Kuntuzangpo, "How are the five elements liberated into the mind?" Upon this request, Kuntuzangpo replied, "The liberation of the five elements into the nature of mind is: Space is unborn space, the sky is unobstructed sky, the bodhichitta that is without both arising and ceasing."
