The Second Chapter: Showing the Essence of the Tantra. Having made such a request, the place transformed. The Great Vajradhara, the Dharmakaya, Vajrasattva, endowed with glory, The Buddha body of all the Victorious Ones. By uniting equally with the limits of space, All beings in the three realms, Because they have not realized the self-born essence, Wander in endless darkness. To realize that, it is well explained. Excellent! The self-born mind, excellent! The essence that gathers the meaning of the tantra, excellent! That which is in accordance with the meaning without contradiction, excellent! Therefore, certainly excellent, excellent! The five causes and conditions of all arise, That itself is the great essence of the self-born. Because the essence is self-born, Therefore, there is no other, it is self-born. Birth, support, ripening, gathering, movement, Faculties, objects, grasping, and holding, Realization united equally with space, From itself, the pure realm of the self-born. Pleasure, pain, and equanimity, Immovable, permanent, impermanent, the three realms, The six classes, five lineages, four births, By the appearance of oneself, it is self-born. The four immeasurables and gathering, Action, ground, and the perfections, Meditation, immeasurable, the direction of enlightenment, The pure realm of the self-born mind. The five attachments and aversions and the five objects of desire, The elements and formations, and so forth, Unmixed, each with its own characteristic, The self-born, all-creating Bodhicitta. By transforming into proper and improper ways, Delusion and grasping arise in the inner and outer two. Obtaining two fruits, the realm without appearance, There is no other meaning superior to the realm. The ground is realized, the ground abides, the fruit is obtained, By accomplishing one's own benefit, one passes into nirvana. Because of cessation, liberation is without taste, Yet one in the self-born, space-like realm. Realizing the two, by the five paths and ten grounds, Possessing the six perfections in ten ways, Although one travels and seeks without end, Everything is gathered in the self-born itself. By hardship itself, the body is tormented, Taking the manner of high and low, clean and unclean, All three are diminished in the desire for meaning, That itself is the nature of the space-like realm. The two abide, holding the manner of conformity, Both view and conduct are practiced separately, Subtle actions are practiced, holding the four mountains, Although divided by thought, it is the self-born nature. The manner of the five symbolic rituals, The body of the Buddha arises in Akanishta. That itself is the body of thought, The body of the self-born mind realm. The elements and formations are one's own deity, In the unborn state.

Born in that field. Self-arisen nature, not made by mind. From the Dharmadhatu, the wisdom body arises. Like stars scattered in the sky. In essence, non-dual, the state of oneness. That is the self-arisen Bodhicitta. The eighty-four thousand Dharmakhandhas, The twelve categories of scriptures, the three Pitakas, etc., No matter how measured by countless means, All gather into the realm of self-arisen purity. By merging with the space-like realm, Just as space has no causes or conditions, The mind, too, has no causes or conditions from the beginning. Unborn, ungrasped, needing nothing. In the essence of self-arisen purity, Power and half, that is the very nature. In the state of equality, free from imputation and addition. Thus, not grasping, transcending boundaries. Without appearance, without seeking, the Dharmadhatu is, By abiding without seeking, it is the fruit. If you seek, it is tiring and meaningless, How can the space-like fruit be achieved? Why is self-arisen Bodhi, Neither color nor shape? The essence without appearance is, Non-dual, beyond seeking, is Bodhi. In the immeasurable self-arisen essence, How can measuring not contradict the meaning? By realizing the meaning of non-conceptual self-arisenness, There is no need to traverse the five paths and ten bhumis. No matter how many hundreds of thousands of samadhis, And the arising and dissolving of Shamatha and Vipassana, Even if sought for countless kalpas, It arises from oneself, not from elsewhere. In the essence that cannot be sought, Abide with a mind free from grasping. In the Dharma-nature without action, Abide in the self-arisen, unsearched Dharmadhatu. Self-arisen, self-observing with self-nature, The essence without an object is, Without needing to be sought, it arises from oneself. Immeasurable, separate from objects. Unmeditatable, the realm of the Dharmadhatu. Unattainable, primordially enlightened. Abandoning and practicing, separating and learning, Purity and empowerment, without abandoning or taking. If you follow the continuum of realizing that, Where is Bodhi from the beginning? Already seen, already done, already arranged, Already accomplished, already primordially enlightened, From the beginning, there is no practice, bondage, or seeking. Self-arisen purity, the view is exhausted. That, too, is the Dharma-nature of grasping. In the essence of the Dharma without grasping, Even if polished and measured at the door of the Dharma, The aggregates of the Dharma are endless. Whatever conceptual thought arises, In the space-like realm, it is primordially one, Free from accepting or rejecting good or bad, Without fabrication or grasping, it is the realm of wisdom. Where does the Garuda fly in the expanse of the sky?
