How to rely on the ground? The Bhagavan Samantabhadra said: Bhagavan, please listen, all the Tathagatas of the retinue. Great wisdom is difficult to obtain, it is accomplished by relying on wisdom and means. Although it seems to be shown to others in name only, the manifest bliss arises from oneself. The ninth chapter, which dwells on the greatness of self-nature. Then, the Tathagatas of the retinue asked again: Bhagavan, Tathagata Samantabhadra, what is the meaning of perfection, being free from action and seeking? The Bhagavan Samantabhadra said: Listen, all the Tathagatas of the retinue! Bhagavan, all the Tathagatas of the retinue, the meaning of the Great Perfection, being free from action and seeking, is: from the nature of the Dharmadhatu, which is boundless and limitless, the great wisdom of self-arising does not need to be sought, it is inherently self-manifesting, that is, the meaning of being free from effort and mind from the very beginning. Bhagavan, the Tathagatas of the retinue asked again: Since the Great Perfection is inherently free from effort and mind, then, Bhagavan Tathagata Samantabhadra, from what cause do the great qualities, powers, fearlessness, marks, and adornments of the Buddha arise? The Bhagavan Samantabhadra said: Bhagavan, all the Tathagatas of the retinue, the great qualities, powers, and fearlessness of the Buddha, etc., even in the stage of the lower vehicle, without the difficulty of seeking the nature of the Great Perfection, which is free from action and seeking, through thoroughly realizing the meaning of the Great Perfection, it naturally arises from the Great Perfection, which is free from action and seeking. Thus he spoke. The Tathagatas of the retinue asked again: Bhagavan, how should future yogis practice the meaning of the Great Perfection? The Bhagavan said: All the Tathagatas of the retinue, when future yogis practice the meaning of the Great Perfection, they should practice by placing their own minds in the unborn nature of reality. The Tathagatas of the retinue asked again: Bhagavan, how do great magical powers, powers, and fearlessness, etc., arise from abiding in the unborn nature of reality?

Nga. The Bhagavan said: Great miracles are not difficult. All virtues and powers, with subtle discernment as they are, immediately arise from oneself. In the Dharma-nature without appearance, if left unsearched, it is meditation. If searched for in this and that, then from that, like that, it does not arise. The chapter on being free from searching for actions, the tenth. To the Bhagavan, the Tathagatas of the retinue asked: Bhagavan, Tathagata Samantabhadra, what is the meaning of abiding by Dharma-nature itself? When asked thus, the Bhagavan said: Tathagatas of the retinue, abiding by Dharma-nature itself is Vajrasattva, great space. Samantabhadra, vast expanse, the realm of Dharma, for the sake of liberating all on the pure great path, why do you not contemplate non-arising and non-ceasing? For the sake of thoroughly purifying the meaning itself with love, why do you not perform great compassion? The profundity of greatness itself, there is no praise whatsoever for virtues. Since meanings are not generated as they are, liberation is liberated by non-action. Since self-arisen wisdom is without searching, it also shows the path of liberation from liberation. The chapter on abiding by Dharma-nature itself, the eleventh. Again, the Tathagatas of the retinue asked: Bhagavan, Tathagata Samantabhadra, what is the meaning of one's own Bodhicitta being apart from expression? When asked thus, he said to the Tathagatas of the retinue: One's own Bodhicitta being apart from expression is that the Dharma-nature of the ground of all is unborn from the beginning. The Dharma-nature that is supremely secret will not be heard by another's ear. Likewise, even by the function of the tongue, there is not a particle of it that can be expressed. Thus he spoke. The chapter on one's own Bodhicitta being apart from expression, the twelfth. Again, the Tathagatas of the retinue asked: Bhagavan, Tathagata Samantabhadra, is one's own Bodhicitta controlled by karma or not controlled? When asked thus, the Bhagavan said: The suffering of beings, Bodhicitta, enjoys completely through complete enlightenment. Although there is no generation in it, it abides equally with the limit of space. In that which is equal in every particular, it does not think of it as karma.
