This, the king of vehicles, the Samantabhadra Yoga, is said to be the common ancestor of all vehicles. According to the teaching method of the Testament Instructions, it is unborn, wordless, signless, and unattached. Emaho! Those sentient beings who do not understand, want to represent what is without substance. These sentient beings are truly afflicted! They want to speak of the meaning of the unborn. These sentient beings are truly afflicted! They want to regard the meaning of utter non-existence as substantial. These sentient beings are truly afflicted! Without establishing my own nature in any way, they verbally establish themselves in the Great Vehicle. These sentient beings are truly afflicted! With the eight vehicles clinging to extreme views, they are pitiable for not seeing me. The eight stages turning their backs on other views, are afflicted by not knowing my own nature. Wonderful! Samantabhadra, to the assembly dwelling in his presence, separates where there is no separation. To all the assembly, he speaks thus: He divides into two where there is no duality. These sentient beings are truly afflicted! They want to accomplish the three kayas where there are no three kayas. These sentient beings are truly afflicted! They want to abandon the three poisons where there are no three poisons. These sentient beings are truly afflicted! They want to abandon the five poisons where there are no five poisons. These sentient beings are truly afflicted! They want to accomplish the five kayas where there are no five kayas. These sentient beings are truly afflicted! They want to abandon sentient beings where there are no sentient beings. These sentient beings are truly afflicted! They want to accomplish Buddhahood where there is no Buddhahood. These sentient beings are truly afflicted! They want to abandon ignorance where there is no ignorance. These sentient beings are truly afflicted! They want to accomplish wisdom where there is no wisdom. These sentient beings are truly afflicted! They want to abandon object and mind where there are no object and mind. These sentient beings are truly afflicted! They want to accomplish grasping where there is no grasping. These sentient beings are truly afflicted! All such dualistic appearances, are they not undeniably shown as the dharma of sentient beings' minds? Is it not undeniable that conceptualization is appearance? Is it not undeniable that words are deceptive? Is it not undeniable that words are terms? Is it not undeniable that the basis of desire is terminology? Is it not undeniable that inferior minds are shown as dharma? Is it not undeniable that everything is deception? Therefore, whatever is conceptualized, appearance, and clinging, dharma cannot be established by these three. Appearance and existence united, nectar and essence. From the tantra that cuts off the beginning and end of samsara, dualistic dharma is liberated.

This is the sixth chapter, which explains the non-attainment of the fruit. Then, Vajrasattva requested the teacher Samantabhadra: "Please explain to us the meaning of the Dharma-nature that cannot be expressed by symbols." After this request, Samantabhadra, the teacher of mind-nature, entered into the samadhi of the radiant jewel, which cannot be symbolized by meaning. Having arisen from the samadhi, he spoke thus to the assembled retinue: Ata pata ri a thim Meaningless). I will explain the Dharma that is completely free from symbols. Vajrasattva, please listen carefully. Unborn, non-existent, beyond symbols, is non-existent. One cannot attain Buddhahood through a Dharma that can be symbolized; one needs a Dharma that cannot be symbolized. One cannot attain Buddhahood through the practice of body and speech; one needs a Dharma that is separate from body and speech. Appearance, emptiness, and unbornness—one cannot attain Buddhahood by practicing these three; one needs a Dharma that is separate from these three. Mind, awareness, and intellect—one cannot attain Buddhahood by practicing these three; one needs a Dharma that is separate from these three. Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha—one cannot attain Buddhahood by practicing these three; one needs a Dharma that is separate from these three. Mind, wisdom, and habitual tendencies—one cannot attain Buddhahood by practicing these three; one needs a Dharma that is separate from these three. Awareness, emptiness, and non-duality—one cannot attain Buddhahood by practicing these three; one needs a Dharma that is separate from these three. Words, symbols, and designations—one cannot attain Buddhahood by practicing these three; one needs a Dharma that is separate from these three. Unborn, without object, and inexpressible—one cannot attain Buddhahood by practicing these three; one needs a Dharma that is separate from these three. What should be taken, what should be grasped, and what should be abandoned—one cannot attain Buddhahood by practicing these three; one needs a Dharma that is separate from these three. What should be done, what should be accomplished, and what should be desired—one cannot attain Buddhahood by practicing these three; one needs a Dharma that is separate from these three. What should be seen, what should be practiced, and what should be accomplished—one cannot attain Buddhahood by practicing these three; one needs a Dharma that is separate from these three. What should be protected, what should be obtained, and what should be traversed—one cannot attain Buddhahood by practicing these three; one needs a Dharma that is separate from these three. Appearance, designation, and attachment—one cannot attain Buddhahood by practicing these three; one needs a Dharma that is separate from these three. Name-view, self-view, and conceptual fabrication—one cannot attain Buddhahood by practicing these three; one needs a Dharma that is separate from these three. The object of mind, thought, non-existence, and grasping—
