It is not the basis of being born in samsara. The setting sun is like the sky not yet dusk. The meaning of all the perfectly enlightened Buddhas' intentions being gathered into one Dharmakaya has been discussed. From the Tantra of the Precious Source of All Qualities, the sixth chapter on the basis of samsara, the chapter on what is not taught. Then, to the assembled retinue, how delusion occurs was taught. That delusion without a basis for delusion, through the ignorance of the six aggregates above and below, taking ignorance as the cause, like a cataract appearing in the eye, coemergent ignorance ripens into three. Then, from within the tube of ignorance, beings that are neither male, female, nor hermaphrodite, similar to the cause, a form that is miraculously born appears. The worldly mother and ignorance increase. After six months, they ripen into male and female. Combining them, they produce the six sense organs and the five poisons. Through the four types of birth, the six types of sentient beings are completed. It arises from that initial basis of delusion. Again, listen to the essence of the gathering. By grasping onto what is not there as being there, delusion arises from the basis of delusion. For example, when a tall pole is seen as a person, the tall pole is not a person, but is seen as a person like something. Similarly, on the basis, like something, through the arising of sudden conditions, mind and habitual tendencies, the alaya consciousness, arise. Again, listen to the essence of the gathering. By perceiving what is not there as being there, because those who are deluded know it, but all the victorious ones do not know it, therefore, there is no delusion on the basis of ultimate meaning. Delusion arises from the sudden mind, like grasping a rope as a snake. Born from that, one wanders in samsara. Again, listen, Vajrasattva. Now When one is abiding where, there is a basis for delusion and the three completely conceptualized natures. Because of ignorance of how they arise, therefore, it exists without beginning or end. If one does not know that, in the end, all the mantra practitioners without ultimate meaning will not be liberated from the four rivers. Completely exhausted by the suffering of samsara, therefore, without confidence, one constantly wanders. The intention of all the Buddhas has been discussed as being gathered into one Dharmakaya. From the Tantra of the Precious Source of All Qualities, the seventh chapter on showing the arising of samsara. Then, in order to benefit the assembled retinue, Vajrasattva requested Samantabhadra thus: How do the eternalists and nihilists, who transform their minds in a perverse way, become deluded?

Speaking briefly about holding onto the nine vehicles, how does one stray from one's own ground? Please, Sarvavidya, explain. Having heard the meaning of this request, he spoke to the assembled retinue: The example of the mistaken view of eternalist non-Buddhists is like mistaking medicine for poison. It illustrates the meaning of the six distinctions, taking the unchanging essence as the basis, and mistaking it for things with color and shape. The ascetic who follows the wrong path falls into hell. When examined by intelligence, the self is not established. That itself is the dharmakāya repeated. There is no other buddha than that. That too, listen to the essence of the gathering. The distinction of nihilistic non-Buddhists is that they take the absence of color and shape as the basis for annihilation, and mistake it for the absence of cause and effect, past and future. They fall into the great hell of slander. It is not annihilation, but there is awareness. Therefore, there is no error in the ground. It abides in the expanse of self-arisen wisdom. That too, listen to the essence of the gathering. Even if led astray by a monkey-like being, the ground itself does not fall into the extremes of permanence or annihilation. The ground does not change through fabrication or transformation. Therefore, cherish the authoritative instructions. The meaning of all the buddhas' intentions converging into one dharmakāya. From the tantra, The Source of All Qualities, the Jewel. This is the eighth chapter, which explains the mistaken views of non-Buddhists. Sarvavidya also said: Listen, I will explain how the nine vehicles stray, taking only a portion of the definitive meaning as the ground. The distinction of the mistaken view of the śrāvakas is that they take the basis of objects, gross and subtle appearances, as the basis. They believe in the absence of self of the individual, but the presence of self of phenomena. They are attached to peace, and do not attain liberation. Because they lack superior insight, they are like ordinary people. Appearances need not be abandoned, because they understand their meaning. Without attachment, the appearance of objects is the realm of phenomena. Now listen to Vajrasattva. The conceptual thought of the basis of all sentient beings is considered to be a moment of knowing purity, above and below. Awareness is independent, and the moment is mistaken. They err in imputing permanence and non-difference. The dharmakāya is self-aware and unchanging. That too, listen to the essence of the gathering. The doctrine of the Madhyamikas is that they take the absence of inherent existence as the basis, and mistake emptiness for emptiness by destroying objects and mind. They fall into the birthplace of nothingness. They err in emptiness, which is annihilation and non-difference. The knowledge of emptiness and awareness is the dharmakāya. That too, listen to the essence of the gathering. The ultimate reality is the three aspects of words. By realizing only a portion, they do not know the ground. Therefore, they do not see the definitive meaning. It is true in words, but mistaken in meaning. All the buddhas
