From Great Bliss. In the utterly pure Dharma-nature, there is no duality of appearance and existence, no duality of vessel and essence, no duality of Buddha and sentient beings, no duality of happiness and suffering, and no Dharma to be spoken of as internal or external. In the essence of the meaning of non-existence, one should not impose the slander of existence. Whoever has not seen the meaning of non-existence, and attaches the imputation of existence to this, does not know the essence of the meaning, and does not see the realm of the bliss of non-existence. That one has not realized the unborn Dharma, that one has not seen the path of the Dharmadhatu, that one is lost in darkness alone, and will not see the state without elaboration. The nature of Bodhicitta is free from all imputation and defamation. Because whoever has not seen that mind, even if counting kalpas for many kalpas, has not seen the mind of essential nature, and will not meet the meaning of truth. Thus it is said. From the Sutra of Bodhicitta, the chapter on the unity of metaphor and meaning, which is the third chapter. Then, all those assembled gatherings, abiding in the mandala of Vajrasattva with faithful minds, aspired with devotion. Then, that Vajrasattva reasonably exhorted the assembled gathering, the root being one in Bodhicitta, exhorting on signs and reasons, and again said: O great gathering of assembled ones, listen now! This Dharma of one root is the nature of Bodhicitta, it is the root of all Dharmas, it is the essence of all that is assembled. In all the Buddhas of the three times, although there is no self in body, speech, and mind, yet in me, the essence is gathered in this. The Dharmas spoken of in appearance and existence, all the phenomena that appear manifestly, all arising is gathered in this, this is the essence of appearance and existence. In this essence, Bodhicitta, all is gathered and arises, therefore the essence is Bodhicitta. The names of Bodhicitta are one and uncountable, if counted, they are infinite and cannot be expressed. One has countless aspects, one holds all aspects, it is the essence of all that is assembled, therefore the essence is Bodhicitta. All arising appears as a cause, therefore the one cause is Bodhicitta, all expands in Bodhicitta, gathering also gathers in Bodhicitta, abiding also abides in Bodhicitta, arising also arises from Bodhicitta.

Buddha's body and wisdom, the nature of mind is free from grasping and being grasped. Therefore, the body of Bodhicitta, the body and karmic imprints of sentient beings, all arise from the five drynesses of the mind. Therefore, the arising Bodhicitta, Bodhicitta is free from grasping and being grasped, Bodhicitta is free from elaboration, Bodhicitta is extremely pure, Bodhicitta has no shape, Bodhicitta has no color, Bodhicitta is free from addition and subtraction, the Bodhicitta that abandons everything, is the root of all dharmas. The one is the root of all dharmas, this root Bodhicitta, because it is made by the nature of all, is the king who does everything. Because the king who does everything does everything, there is nothing that is actually established. Whoever wants to be actually established, that person will not accomplish all dharmas, therefore the unreal is accomplished by everything. Whoever accomplishes the unreal, that person establishes the root mind, establishes the root of all dharmas, establishes the king who does everything. Therefore, whoever is agreeable, the unreal is manifested by what, that person accomplishes everything, therefore the non-abiding unreal king is established. This one accomplishes all doers, this one will become all doers, from that everything will arise, from that everything arises, from that everything exists, the appearing dharma also arises from that. Because everything arises from everything, therefore the heart essence Bodhicitta, is the root of all dharmas. Thus it is said. In the Bodhicitta Sutra, the chapter on the root Bodhicitta, that is the fourth chapter. Then all those assembled, in front of the teacher Samantabhadra, abide with extreme reverence. All prayed with one voice: Teacher Samantabhadra, makes all dharmas appear. Teacher Vajrasattva, shows that meaning as the only root. If the meaning of the only root is shown, then the root of all dharmas is realized. Thus they prayed. Then, that mind warrior Vajra, spoke this sutra and explanation of the only root of all dharmas. The only root of all dharmas is like this, the nature of dharma and the nature of mind are shown as one, there is no counting with numbers and appearances, the yogi who realizes without fabrication, Dhyana.
