Thus, the samaya of secret mantra, even if broken, has a way to restore it. There are many methods of purification and many doors of means. The general bath is a treasure that digs out the pit of the lower realms. The six tantras of Supreme Bliss cut off the door of birth. Without a place to stand, it cuts off the attachment of duality. Thus it was prophesied. The Vajrasattva Hundred Syllable Mantra, from the Tantra of the King of Supreme Bliss, Chapter Three, which reveals the method of restoring what has been broken. Then, Vajrasattva and the one holding the vajra in his hand, requested all the Buddhas, "O assembly of Buddhas like the ocean, how are the samayas of the unsurpassed secret mantra Vajrayana, in brief and in detail? How to fulfill the broken vows of protection and restraint?" Knowing this, they asked. The assembled Buddhas replied, "Vajrasattva, Vajradhara, in the vehicle of secret mantra fruit, there are three root samayas: body, speech, and mind. There are twenty-five branch samayas: five not to abandon, five to adopt, five to practice, and five to accomplish. Furthermore, the subsidiary parts are beyond imagination. Even the samayas of hundreds of thousands of categories, should know the root and branches. Having entered the door of the four stages of approach and accomplishment, those samayas should be protected. Whether well protected or not protected, the twenty-five branches are also included in the three root samayas. Body, speech, and mind should be mindful. All breakages arise from these three. Body, speech, and mind, with the blessings of body, speech, and mind, confession, purification, abandonment, accomplishment, and self-arisen vajra are gold itself. If breakage arises from the door of the mind, it should be confessed with the view of the mind. Wrong view is a great breakage. The view of existence and non-existence is the best of views. It is the greatest method of confession of the mind. If breakage arises from the door of the body, it is confessed by meditating on the mudra of the body. Holding to a direction is a great breakage. Non-distraction is the best of meditation. This is the method of confession of the body. If breakage arises from the door of speech, it is confessed by practicing mantra and recitation. Hypocritical acceptance and rejection is a great breakage. Non-existence and non-non-existence is the best of practice. It is the method of confession of action. Thus, when the three samayas are confessed, the twenty-five do not arise or appear. There is no confession for the branch samayas. If there is no protector or protected, know the unborn samaya. Thus it was said. From the Tantra of the King of Supreme Bliss, revealing the samaya of

Chapter Four. Then, Vajrasattva and Vajrapani went to the abode of that putrid one and proclaimed to that tormented and exhausted being, saying: Naraka Bhuta Chakshu Praveshaya Ah (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: नरक भूत चक्षु प्रवेशय अ, Sanskrit Romanization: naraka bhūta cakṣu praveśaya a, Literal Chinese meaning: Hell, become, eye, enter, Ah). Confessed to the two Vajras, saying: "Alas, alas, what a shameful mistake! Protector of beings, please protect me with compassion! Please proclaim the supreme king of confession! From now on, I will not hide or do evil." After such lamentations, the Buddha Vajrasattva spoke into the ear of that evil-doing sentient being, the king of confession—the Hell-Emptying Dharma: "Listen, you evil-doing sentient being! Generate a mind of repentance and trust in it! Speak clearly, stretch out your body, and seek prostrations!" Having said this, he recited the following: To all the Victorious Ones, like an ocean, of the three times and realms, I prostrate! The Dharmas are pure, spontaneously accomplished from the beginning, Actions and mental dharmas are completely pure. I prostrate to Samantabhadra and Samantabhadri! Takrita (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: तकृत, Sanskrit Romanization: takṛta, Literal Chinese meaning: Takrita) I prostrate to the four gatekeepers! The ultimate of permanence and annihilation, the nature of the secret Dakini, Iron hook, rope, iron chain, bell. I prostrate to the four Vajra gatekeepers! From the Tantra of the Supreme King, the Chapter on the Supreme Method, the Wrathful One, the Sixth Chapter. Again, it was declared: "You sentient beings with evil karma, exert diligence with body, speech, and mind. Request empowerment from the deities of the mandala. With reverence, confess to the deities of the mandala. I prostrate to the Dharmakaya, devoid of characteristics. I prostrate to the Sambhogakaya, the body of perfect enjoyment. I prostrate to the Nirmanakaya, the body of various manifestations. I prostrate to the immutable Vajrakaya, the diamond body. I prostrate to the Abhisambodhikaya, the body of manifest enlightenment. I prostrate to the Supreme Method, the red-black body of Yamantaka. I prostrate to the flawless sound of speech, the lotus speech. I prostrate to the nectar medicine that cures the disease of faults. Those who are accomplished by all the Buddhas of the three times, having perfected the two accumulations and brought qualities to completion, I prostrate to the body and the assembly of wisdom. Those who have mastery over the five elements, I prostrate to the five eternal queens. The mothers who are established from the realm of inherent nature, I prostrate to the five sovereign mothers of the realms. Emanations of the cause and effect Bodhicitta, I prostrate to the thirty-two Dakinis. Emanations of Ganapati, I prostrate to the male Ging. Emanations of the goddess Shri Devi, I prostrate to the female Ging. The mothers who have dominion over the world realms, the terrifying, blazing, and braided ones, the mothers who are attached to the taste of desire, I prostrate to the assembly of Mamos. Those who hold the tally of good and bad, follow the samaya, and act as companions in accomplishing according to the command, I prostrate to the assembly of the oath-bound ocean." Thus it was said. From the Tantra of the Supreme King of Empowerment, from the section on confessing transgressions and requesting attestation, the chapter on the gathering of the mandala, the Seventh Chapter. Again, it was declared: "Whoever prostrates to the deities of the mandala of the illusory wrathful one, all impairments will be purified, and even the sins of the five heinous crimes will be purified. Even the place of Naraka will be emptied, and it will be known as the realm of the Vidyadharas, the victorious ones." Thus, upon proclaiming, that sentient being in the place of hell, regained their memory. From the pacification of that moment of suffering, Vajrasattva spoke thus: "May the ocean of victorious realms be mindful. All the maturation of the uninterrupted misdeeds of all the Buddhas of the three times is purified. The secret mantra samaya is restored to its original state. What need is there to mention minor non-virtues? Whoever is afflicted by illness..."
