The Tantra Called "The Hundred Syllable Mantra of Vajrasattva, the Supreme Empowerment King Tantra". In Sanskrit: Vajrasattva shatakshara raka abhishekottama haraja tantra nama Vajrasattva-śatākṣara-rāka-abhiṣekottama-mahārāja-tantra-nāma,The Tantra Called "The Hundred Syllable Mantra of Vajrasattva, the Supreme Empowerment King Tantra"). In Tibetan: The Tantra Called "The Hundred Syllable Mantra of Vajrasattva, the Supreme Empowerment King Tantra". Homage to the Bhagavan, the Great Glorious Vajradhara. Thus have I heard at one time, all the Tathagatas were dwelling in the first of the Akanishta Vajra realm, in a state without differentiation of Dharmata, with great compassion and love, gazing upon beings, and seeing the sprouts of Bodhi withered, sentient beings. At that time, at that moment, all the Victorious Ones from the ten directions gathered and discussed the meaning of compassion. Alas, Vajrasattva, Vajradhara! The vows of the desire realm of the world are damaged. Negative actions and their ripening cannot be reversed from their causes. You are the antidote to that. Thus they discussed. The Vajra Holder, the Vajradhara, his emanation spoke thus: Has the time come, in that way, for those who experience the ripening of negative actions, to be delivered from the hell realms of the lower realms? Thus he assented. Then, the Teacher Kuntuzangpo and Kunrig Nampar Nangdze, etc., were dwelling in a state of unmoving equality. The Buddhafields of the ten directions were also like that. Then, the Teacher Vajrasattva, in the first of the realms, Akanishta, surrounded by the prince holding the Vajra in his hand, at the time of compassionately holding beings, spoke of purifying Samsara and confessing transgressions. He taught the supreme Tantra, the Vajra King, and this Tantra of the Supreme Empowerment King. The sins committed by the teacher and the student, the naked bodies rotting in hell, and the pretas and animals, are benefited in sequence. Humans, gods, and asuras, are delivered from the six realms. The teachings of the Supreme Empowerment King arise from this. Thus he spoke. From the Tantra of the Hundred Syllable Mantra of Vajrasattva, the Supreme Empowerment King, the first chapter is the complete introduction. Then, Vajrasattva and the emanation Vajrapani, and the countless Victorious Ones of the world, and the assembled emanations of the princes, for those who have broken the root vows, and the students who have committed sins against the teacher, has the time come to tame and guide them? With compassion, he gazes upon those to be tamed.

What is the cause of past faults and transgressions? Knowing this, he spoke thus. Samantabhadra Vajra Vairocana, Bestowed teachings upon the emanation: Prince and retinue, what happened in the past, In this Saha world realm, A Brahmin with a conch rosary, Through serving and honoring the Buddhas, Skilled in the five sciences, One with the lineage of a Bodhisattva, One, dwelling in the charnel ground at the edge, practiced, Became the lion among all the wise. To such a teacher, The son of the king who ruled the land, Having perfected the training of mind and knowledge, The Brahmin resided above the king. The prince developed jealousy and ill will, When the Lama Brahmin was practicing, The assembly of Dakinis gave a firm sign: Yogi, the golden vessel is tainted with poison. It is fitting to flee the poisonous vessel, If you do not flee, faults and transgressions will separate body and mind. Although such a sign of the vow was indicated, The Yogi meditated. Then the prince deceived the Brahmin, Intoxicated him with alcohol and inflicted torture: The eyes that clarified the essence of the senses, Were pierced with thin iron needles. The tongue that clarified the door of speech, Was pulled out with an iron hook and cut with a razor. The body was smeared with turtle blood, An unclean and defiled woman, Rubbed, crushed, and massaged the body. The heels of the feet were cut with a weapon, The joints of the hands were similarly severed. Having inflicted such torture and left him there, When the Brahmin regained consciousness, He opened his eyes but had no eyes, nor tongue, No feet to walk, his body was weak, Rubbed by the woman, he had no strength to move, Smeared with turtle blood, blisters appeared, Diseases arose on the feet and so on, Even his memory was dim. Disturbed, the Brahmin thought: That this has happened to me, Is it the ripening of past karma? Or is it caused by the jealousy of others? Having observed in equanimity, He saw himself being tortured by the prince. Then the Brahmin uttered a curse: Alas, alas, prince, You, having studied and trained for years and months, Having become skilled in the five sciences, Yet you repay with such torture, May you, in just one lifetime, Be born as a decaying creature, Short-lived, your body afflicted by disease, Blind, mute, leprous, with boils, Vitiligo, ulcers, blisters, Lame, crippled, impoverished, Your body infested with flesh-eating worms.
