Through the exercise of the body, whatever thoughts arise manifest as the exercise of awareness. No matter how coarse the thoughts of the five poisons arise, they are equally endowed with the clarity and sharpness of liberation. Therefore, whatever appears is food for the naked awareness of emptiness. No matter how thoughts change, everything manifests as the power of one's own nature in the naked essence of awareness, at which time one maintains without acceptance or rejection. Since one is born liberated from the moment of arising, one does not go beyond the activities of the Dharmakaya. Whatever moves is the power of the king of Dharmakaya. Mental thoughts, ignorance, and illusory forms are purified in the expanse of awareness, wisdom, and Dharmakaya, in the expanse of luminosity, clarity, and continuity. Whatever movement of thoughts arises, its own essence is emptiness. Without trace, self-purified, Alala. If one meditates on such a way of practice for a long time, thoughts will arise as meditation. If an interruption occurs during the transition of states, it will not harm the abiding. The way of appearance is the same as before. At that time, the thoughts of power, like ordinary people, will manifest as joy, sorrow, hope, and fear. However, unlike ordinary people, who cling to affirmation and negation, thereby accumulating karma and becoming subject to attachment and aversion, yogis are born liberated from the moment of arising. First, one is liberated by recognizing thoughts, like meeting someone one knew before. Second, thoughts liberate themselves, like an illusory knot. Finally, thoughts are liberated as neither beneficial nor harmful, like a thief entering an empty house. Therefore, the key to the way of liberation is crucial. Therefore, it is said: Even if one knows how to meditate, but does not know how to liberate, what is the difference between meditation and the gods? Like this, meditation that does not possess the key points of the way of liberation, merely being content with the meditation of abiding, will stray into the meditation of higher realms. Those who think that it is enough to merely recognize the transition of states are no different from ordinary deluded thoughts. Those who expand emptiness and Dharmakaya, etc., with conceptual mind, once they encounter adverse conditions, will expose their weaknesses and be unable to maintain their state. Therefore, without these, meditation is a mistaken path. No matter how one names it, such as arising liberation, self-liberation, natural liberation, etc. The way of liberation in which thoughts are self-liberated and purified without trace is the key to directly showing self-liberation, and is the unique characteristic of the self-perfected Great Perfection. Therefore, such key points

If one possesses it, then whatever afflictions and conceptual thoughts arise, they will dissolve into the Dharmakaya, delusions and misconceptions will be purified into wisdom, and bad circumstances will appear as helpers. Afflictions will be transformed into the path. Without abandoning samsara, one is purified in the present moment, and liberated from the bonds of existence and peace. Because one abides in a state of non-doing and non-striving, possessing this key point means that without meditation, one is in the state of Dharmakaya. If one does not have this confidence in liberation, then no matter how high one claims one's view to be, or how profound one's meditation is, it will not benefit the mind. Because it cannot become an antidote to afflictions, it is not the true path. If one possesses this key point of self-arising and self-liberation, even if one does not have a high view or profound meditation, even if one has not the slightest attachment, one will surely be liberated from the bonds of dualistic clinging in one's own mind. Just as when one goes to the Golden Island, one cannot find ordinary earth and stones, so too, whatever appearances and conceptual thoughts arise, they will appear as meditation, and one will not be able to find the self-nature of delusion. Therefore, this alone is like a plumb line for distinguishing whether or not practice hits the key point. Establishing confidence in liberation is the third key point. These three key points are the unmistaken key points for carrying the four—view, meditation, conduct, and result—of the Great Perfection of Naturalness into the naked awareness of rigpa, all at once. Therefore, it is also a pith instruction for meditation and conduct. However, according to the general monastic tradition, just as one measures the objects of knowledge with scripture and logic and then establishes them, this is not desired here. Even if one does not realize it in the naked, direct wisdom, it is still the view of rigpa-wisdom. Because view and meditation are of one taste, there is no contradiction in saying that all three key points are the practice of view. For a view that possesses the three key points, this kind of practice is the unmistaken key point of the path of original purity of the Great Perfection of Naturalness, which is the pinnacle of the nine vehicles. Just as when a king arrives, it is impossible not to have an entourage of troops, so too, the key points of the path of all vehicles will become the support or friend of this key point. Moreover, when one meets the face of the self-arisen wisdom lamp of original purity rigpa, its power will blaze as wisdom born of meditation, and the expanse of knowledge will burst forth like a summer river. The essence of emptiness will arise as great compassion.
