Even if thoughts of hatred and the eight worldly concerns arise, do not think of them as bad, and without regret or rejection, rest in the nature of self-liberation, so there is no need to abandon or transform them. Likewise, even if good thoughts arise, appearing as virtuous forms, the intrinsic nature of mind cannot be transformed into goodness. Even if bad thoughts arise, appearing as non-virtuous forms, they cannot be transformed into badness. From sentient beings to Buddhas, there is no difference in the nature of mind, so that nature is the Great Perfection. If you realize such a nature, you will be equal in a state without anything to abandon or adopt. The present adoption and rejection, hope and fear, negation and affirmation, attachment and aversion, thinking 'This is right, this is wrong,' and being bound by clinging to reality, all kinds of doctrines and rules disappear. In the state of self-awareness, clear and unobstructed, everything is pure without anything to abandon or adopt, so existence is non-existence. At that time, the practice of naked self-awareness is not 'Its nature is like this or that,' not happiness, clarity, non-conceptuality, etc. It cannot be expressed in words and is not an object of conceptual thought. For a yogi, at all times, self-awareness arises naturally like pure gold, each existing in the realm of the wisdom of self-awareness, so it is the extreme of non-existence and existence. Thus, in the uncorrected state of mind itself, all aspects of clinging to reality naturally dissolve, so all things are destroyed. The very nature of being free from the bondage of clinging to reality is emptiness, in which awareness and emptiness are non-dual, so there is no need to seek emptiness that has been made an object of the mind, so emptiness is the Great Perfection. If you do not understand this and hope for the emptiness of existential analysis, then you seek a reversed emptiness in appearance, bound by the clinging of emptiness, fabricating and fabricating, thinking that it is the emptiness of examination, wanting to be liberated by the mind. O you who want to fabricate and fabricate and be liberated! Such a person slanders appearance and destroys emptiness, falling into the extreme of nihilism. If you regard emptiness as supreme and cling to it as real, you will fall into the extreme of eternalism. Since you cannot escape from the precipice of eternalism and nihilism, is there liberation from eternalism and nihilism? For example, just as all the outer and inner worlds composed of the four elements depend on space to exist, but space does not depend on anything, so all phenomena depend on the Great Perfection of Dharmata.

However, the Dharmata Great Perfection does not rely on anything. Because there is no basis for reliance, it is without basis. Although all phenomena of samsara and nirvana are produced by causes and conditions, the Dharmata Great Perfection has no root by which anything produces it, so it is rootless. That Dharmata without basis and root abides primordially without any alteration or corruption at all times, so it is the Primordial Abiding Great Perfection. Like this, some who do not recognize the natural abiding state of the Primordial Abiding, Innate Dharmata think that all phenomena are emptiness, and deliberately cultivate by clinging to emptiness. Some grasp the appearance aspect of form as real, and rely on the meditation with signs such as deities and bindus. Some say that the ultimate Dharmata is like this and that, clinging to "true, true, permanent, permanent, firmly grasped," guarding it with conceptual mind, and exaggerating it with fabricated meditation. Some think that all phenomena are emptiness, so there is no samsara, no nirvana, no karmic results, nothing at all, cultivating nihilistic views, and slandering as non-existence. Like this, those who do not realize hold their various desires as the supreme meaning and cultivate, so there are meditations on emptiness, appearance, existence, and non-existence. Like this, whoever has the dualistic meditation fabricated by conceptual mind also has the views of desire and philosophical tenets. They also have actions of acceptance and rejection, and partiality. Therefore, whoever has meditation has views and actions. Like this, those who rely on the fabricated views and meditation of conceptual mind do not have the key point of primordial liberation free from acceptance and rejection, so they grasp samsara and nirvana as good and bad, therefore they have existence. Like this, grasping existence as true and making it the object to be abandoned, they cannot abandon existence, just as one cannot abandon the shadow without abandoning the body. Without abandoning the root of samsara—the clinging to reality—one cannot abandon the suffering of samsara, so there is the suffering of samsara. Similarly, those who cling to dualistic grasping and partiality are bound by various desires for Dharma and vehicles, thinking, "This is good, this is bad, this is my own tradition, this is another's tradition, I am superior, others are inferior," and attachment, hatred, and disputes clearly increase. Therefore, whoever has Dharma has desires for vehicles. Such a person follows the dualistic grasping of self and other, falls into the cage of afflictions, and all the bonds of samsara.
