Commentary on Jigme Gyalwai Myugu's Last Testament: Naked Awareness. Commentary on Jigme Gyalwai Myugu's Last Testament: Naked Awareness. I prostrate to the kind root guru, the embodiment of all Buddhas! Here, great masters of the past, such as Garab Dorje, who attained accomplishment through the path of Natural Great Perfection, instructed their foremost sons on the ultimate essence of realization and practice in the manner of last testaments. As a result, realization and liberation occurred simultaneously, and they became of one mind with their masters. Similarly, in this present time, when the unequaled lord of Dharma, the protector of the wheel, the one widely known as Jigme Gyalwai Myugu, dissolved his mind into the Dharmadhatu, he spoke to his unequaled heart-son, the incarnate tulku Migyur Namkhai Dorje, in the form of a last testament, the ultimate essence of Great Perfection practice, amidst a vision of clear light. To explain the meaning of this slightly, there are three parts: First, pointing out the unerring nature of reality, the original nature itself; second, how to practice the uncorrected mind, the naked awareness of clarity and emptiness; third, showing the place of liberation for delusion and conceptualization in a state free from acceptance and rejection. First: Thus, the original nature of reality, the wisdom free from all elaboration, the essence of the Sugata, whatever its own nature is, that is realized as not having become a Buddha, and not realized as not having become a sentient being. At the time when the general basis of samsara and nirvana, that is, the nature of reality itself, the great basis of original purity, which has never been defiled by the stains of the two obscurations, is called primordially pure. Such a nature of reality cannot be known by intellectual speculation or verbal expression, and because it transcends the realm of thought, that space is in fact the emptiness of space, free from all extremes of elaboration, which is beyond the realm of thought and expression, as shown. Such a nature of reality is not elsewhere, but is inseparable from the clear light of one's own mind, hence it is awareness itself. That original nature of mind is the maker of all phenomena of samsara and nirvana, and because it has dominion over all phenomena, it is the king.
