For those with inferior fortune to discern, the Vinaya is a lamp illuminating the path of goodness. 11. This does not deviate from the path of liberation, because it forcefully cuts off the precipice of misdeeds. For those who go to the delightful garden of perfect qualities, the Vinaya is a straight road adorned with flowers. 12. To beings in the world who are impoverished in qualities and Dharma, it bestows the splendor of wealth upon whomever it encounters. The gate of generosity is not held by others; the Vinaya is a treasury of the three trainings, a jewel store. 13. The long-accustomed poison of misdeeds, once seized, causes hundreds of sufferings of samsara. The Vinaya is a tree of medicinal qualities that restores the supreme bliss of peace. 14. From being tormented by the sharp heat of hatred, here, due to the unbearable ripening of angry words, the Vinaya is a mandala of nectar, extinguishing the fire of hell that will burn in the future. 15. The river of evil destinies, with waves of suffering, is long and difficult to reverse, destroying heavenly cities. The Vinaya is an indestructible bridge for crossing over and cutting off the stream of existence. 16. The good city of heaven is a garden of jewels, adorned with a collection of peaceful qualities. The Vinaya is a ladder of the gods for ascending to the foundation upon which the mansion of liberation is built. 17. The stainless lotus of noble qualities, with fragrant and sweet filaments that protect morality, the Vinaya is a flourishing garden that gives the taste of being intoxicated by the honey of good fortune. 18. The battle of afflictions is extremely unbearable, seeking opportunities to seize the life force of liberation, and also coveting the treasury of accumulated merit. The Vinaya is a giant army capable of destroying all of this. 19. The Buddha's hundreds of aggregates of qualities, to whomever you approach, will certainly bestow. This path is the single life-force of the teachings; the precious Vinaya is a pillar of offering for gods and humans. 20. Numerous excellent and glorious riches, for those who think it is difficult to achieve without effort, the path from ease to ease, the Vinaya is the nectar, the door of Dharma. 21.

Is unparalleled. Even countless protectors of the past have proclaimed this true path among their disciples. The precious doctrine is illuminated by this sun. 23. Many protectors who dwell and will come, first take the true path of pure conduct, and then proceed to the heart of enlightenment. Without relying on this path, one cannot attain Buddhahood. 24. As long as the sun of Dharma exists in the world, the light of the teachings will not be empty, because many will follow in the footsteps of the Sage. The Buddha's teaching is solely the Dharma. 25. A person who practices pure conduct without degeneration is worthy of being revered by gods and many beings.

What use are the gods of Paranirmita-vasavartin to him? 34. He abandons the arrogance that comes from being a king, and is content with the drink of the nectar of contentment. With the perfect fortune of the true Dharma, he seems to summon the collection of qualities of peace. 35. He is freed from the clinging to samsara that binds, and with the splendor of the accumulation of excellent qualities, he freely turns the wheel of the Dharma of the Sage. This is the way of ruling of the sons of the Buddha. 36. The youthful sun of marks and signs accomplishes all purposes. He abandons the glory of the Chakravartin who rules this world, and gladly accepts the new robes of pure conduct, thus crossing the ocean of the three realms. 37. The tree of discipline, with its roots firmly planted in renunciation, has branches that spread out with the expanse of what to abandon and adopt. It possesses the magical power of the seven noble riches to fulfill all desires. This Dharma-Vinaya is the wish-fulfilling tree itself. 38. In the garden where the forest flowers bloom, he is not bound by laziness and sleep, and his eyes do not close. He delights in enjoying the essence of the nectar of meditation. Holding this Dharma-Vinaya is superior to the gods. 39. The suffering of accumulating, protecting, and increasing wealth does not exist for him, because he has abandoned the extremes of poverty and wealth. Even the enjoyments that are difficult to obtain in samsara come to him naturally without effort. 40. Even the dust particles touched by his toes have the miraculous power to make the three realms auspicious. 41. Possessing the firm foundation of the complete discipline, in the cool shade of the three trainings' wide branches, he has the ease of learning, contemplation, and meditation. The Vinaya-holder is the divine lord who adorns the world. 42.
