Do not lose (what you have gained). Do not forget any good or bad things you have done to others. You must understand the difference between good and bad for yourself. Do not be easily happy or sad. Say as much as you hear. If you say all that you remember, you are a madman. If you eat everything you find, you are a dog or pig. If you do whatever you think of, you are empty-headed. As the saying goes, do not sell courage to water, rocks, enemies, thieves, etc. Be careful and wary of small harms. Even if the help is small, listen to the advice of the weak. Do not speak ill of anyone behind their back. Speak less, and be broad-minded. When necessary, explain the reasons in detail. Do not make too many promises, keep your word, and do not lie. For good deeds, do your best to provide any help you can. For bad deeds, explain the reasons clearly and do not cause harm. To strangers, be respectful and treat them well. Do not reveal your property, food, wealth, and secrets. To acquaintances, help as much as you can. Do not easily swear or lie. Do not laugh at others when they are down or make mistakes. Do not be arrogant or complacent when you are successful or wealthy. Do not be close to good officials, Bonpos, or evil people, etc. Do not follow people who are indecisive or have great mood swings. Do not take everything you hear as true. Do not regard every harm as an enemy. Even if you are close, do not speak your heart. Even if you have hatred, do not reveal the faults of others. Do not have too much hope for someone who is gone and will not return. Do not trust people you do not know. Do not talk too much in a crowd. When alone, do not do too many things. No matter when or where, do not do too many things. Do not deceive a friend who trusts you. Do not covet the property of others. In general, all freedom is happiness. All unfreedom is suffering. Common things are the root of disputes. Vows are the cause of bondage. The best of wealth is knowledge. The best of merit is altruism. The best of adornment is wisdom. The best of friends is one who does not deceive. The best of happiness is generating Bodhicitta. That is what is said. The rich are among the fools. The brave are among the beasts. Even animals can achieve things just for themselves. Virtuous people are rare in this world. So, learn the sacred behavior of virtuous people who benefit others. People's good and bad are judged by themselves, but nowadays, in general, people do not look at whether it conforms to the sacred behavior of virtuous people, but praise those who are beneficial to themselves and have a good attitude, and slander those who are not beneficial to themselves, or listen to others' words to praise or slander, which is not right.

The wise judge with their own wisdom, while the foolish follow fame. Like an old dog barking, what reason is there for it? It's like saying that words increase when passed from person to person, and food decreases when passed from hand to hand. Just as it is said, they don't understand either. In all matters, one must grasp the measure for oneself, accomplish the task, understand the thoughts of friends, comprehend the nature of people's minds, enjoy moderately, act in accordance with local customs, eat and dress in accordance with wealth, speak in accordance with friends, and align the mind with the Dharma, striving for the Dharma that brings happiness in this life and the next. Don't be too stingy, and keep secrets tightly. One's character should be gentle and unchangeable. Conduct should be upright and restrained. Thus, he kept rambling on. Then, the wise youth said, "Such numerous teachings are difficult to remember all at once. Please tell us a summary of the main points." Saying this, the old man said, "Oh, wise youth, listen. If all human affairs are to be summarized, there are mainly five points: first, a gentle nature; second, restrained behavior; third, a broad mind that can uphold principles; fourth, skill in analysis and judgment; and fifth, genuine concern for others. Having these five points encompasses everything. First, no one likes a person with anger, malice, and rudeness. Even if you help them, they will be annoyed. Because everyone thinks they are irrational, one must have a gentle nature. A gentle nature means not having anger or harsh words towards anyone, and always having a gentle and kind heart, not being like snot, sticking to anyone's face. That is the first point. If there are many things and one cannot control oneself, sometimes it is good, sometimes it is bad, and one will be ridiculed. Therefore, one must be with friends, within one's own control, without changing one's mind, and adhere to one's principles. Self-control means that no matter what one does, one must adjust according to one's ability, wealth, time, connections, etc., rather than foolishly insisting on one's own way and not accepting the actions of others. That is the second point. Although no one dislikes food, women, wealth, etc., one must consider the potential benefits and harms, as well as the sense of shame. Also, although no one is not angry at harmful things like bad words,
