Thus, 'existence,' 'non-existence,' and 'both existence and non-existence'—since there is no direction whatsoever, it is not possible to engage in prolonged disputes about it.' As it is said. Although the Madhyamikas do not have their own system of tenets, they do have the necessity of refuting the various wrong conceptions of sentient beings, such as existence and non-existence, affirmation and negation, permanence and annihilation. Emptiness and non-emptiness, self and non-self, elaboration and non-elaboration, appearance and emptiness, ultimate truth and conventional truth, samsara and nirvana, and so forth. Based on these various teachings, sentient beings come to know that all phenomena are free from elaboration, their conceptualizations are pacified, their karmas and afflictions are purified, and they are liberated from the suffering of samsara, establishing themselves in liberation and omniscience. This is the essential purpose. As the noble one said: 'Do not say it is empty, nor say it is not empty, nor say it is both or neither; speak in order to designate meaning.' And: 'Grasping at self becomes firm, grasping at non-self also becomes firm. The Buddhas taught self, and also taught the absence of self.' And: 'Speaking is perverse, because the mind's sphere of activity is reversed. Unborn and unceasing, the nature of phenomena is the same as nirvana. All is truly true, all is not truly true, the not truly true is also not truly true. This is the Buddha's teaching.' Thus, whatever debates the Madhyamikas engage in, whether it is establishing their own tenets or refuting those of others, they do so without any object of focus, yet with the necessity of pacifying the conceptualizations of sentient beings. If it were not so, if one were to cling to one's own tenets and establish them, and hate the refutation of others, then such debates and refutations would only serve to increase one's own conceptualizations. How could they then become debates with great purpose? As it is said in the sutra: 'The world argues with me, but I do not argue with the world. What the world considers to exist, I also consider to exist; what the world considers not to exist, I also consider not to exist.' And as Aryadeva said: 'This Dharma was not taught by the Buddhas for the sake of argument, but like fire consuming wood, it destroys the arguments of others.' And as the glorious Chandrakirti said: 'Treatises are not written out of attachment to debate,' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is spoken for the sake of liberation. However, if it is explained in detail, There is no fault if other tenets are destroyed. Those who are attached to their own tenets, and similarly, Those who hate the tenets of others, understand that, Therefore, eliminate attachment and anger, The wise ones will quickly be liberated. If one is a Madhyamika, one should not establish a self-affirming commitment, because there is no acceptance of other positions. We do not want to negate, but to eliminate the position of others who believe in existence. We do not want to affirm existence, but to eliminate the position of others who believe in non-existence. Therefore, Madhyamikas who practice according to worldly conventions and Madhyamikas who do not abide are merely different names. For the system known as Madhyamika-Prasaṅgika, one should know that even by accepting appearances as they are accepted in the world, there is not a single commitment or acceptance in one's own system. This instruction on the view of the equality of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa is also slightly adorned with the scriptural and logical statements of the Madhyamika treatises of the noble Nāgārjuna and his sons and the glorious Candrakīrti. According to the command of the venerable Mañjuśrī, it was written down by Dpawo Dorje. All the teachings of the Buddha are contained in the two categories of sūtra and tantra. All the subjects of the sūtras are contained in the two stages. All the subjects of the tantras are contained in the two stages. The system of Nāgārjuna and his sons considers the ultimate truth of the outer pāramitās and the clear light explained in the inner tantras to be the same. Therefore, I only have faith in the system of Nāgārjuna and his sons, and I also follow the footsteps of Nāgārjuna and his sons in how to take the meaning of the sūtras and tantras. This instruction also shows the pure Madhyamika view, However, since it is primarily an instruction on the clear light of Guhyasamāja, in the stage of śamatha, there is a unique method of meditating on samādhi based on the five Buddha families, fathers and mothers, etc. Homage to the glorious guru Mañjughoṣa). With wisdom, completely destroy the bonds of existence, With compassion, abandon the joy of peace for a long time. Not abiding in the extremes of existence and peace, the lord of existence and peace. I pray to the Victorious Vajradhara. Transcending the number of dust particles in the self-arisen realm, The treasury of wisdom of countless Victorious Ones. The wisdom body that gathers the boundless into one. I pray to the protector Mañjuśrī. Through the power of the great aspirations made long ago --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
