The reason for saying that there are many beings to be tamed for the sake of the great (wrathful) activity is that it was said at a time when the teachings of the All-Good Mind Essence were very prosperous. Other doubts about this have already been listed. If I were to write down how to dispel those doubts in the way that I imagine in my own mind, then in the exhortation of the Kagyé Palchen Düpa of the Later Nyingthik, it says: "For sentient beings who cling to false views and entities, it is difficult to tame them with other vehicles of cause and effect, please accomplish the activity of realizing self-arisen wisdom." Like that, the meaning there is that due to the needs of the time, it is a time to exhort the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to perform wrathful activities. Thus, the object of this activity of realizing self-arisen wisdom is known not to be tamed by the activities of pacifying, increasing, and subjugating. Furthermore, if it is an object to be tamed by the activities of pacifying and so on, then it should be able to be tamed by other vehicles of cause and effect. However, just as it was just said, "difficult to tame." In general, it is well known that a wrathful object of taming needs to have any one of the ten fields, or possess the seven degenerations. That object of taming is now becoming like that due to sudden circumstances, and in general, having met special teachers such as Buddhas in the past, from the point of view of having obtained a connection with the Dharma of Secret Mantra, it is also necessary to have the accumulation of vast meritorious deeds, like the appearance of Rudra. Therefore, now too, when sentient beings are very wicked and their minds are mostly disturbed by afflictions, it is obvious that there are very many wrathful objects of taming, such as those who destroy the Buddha's teachings. Moreover, at this time, through teaching and studying the Dharma, etc., with the three activities of pacifying and so on, it is said that the beings to be taught of the Great Perfection are very sharp-witted, because there are very many beings who can recognize realization through wrathful activities. If it is said like that, then how should it be measured? Furthermore, at the time of the four empowerments, if the word empowerment is combined with wrathful activity, will there be any understanding? In the future, when the teachings of the final period of the Kalachakra appear, it is said that even the beings who die under the hooves of the horses of the army of the Kalki king will surely be liberated. Those also need to be acknowledged as objects of taming to be done for the sake of mantra.

Yes. Regarding the question about the difference between the Alaya and the Alaya-consciousness, it is difficult to give a definitive answer. But to the best of my knowledge, generally speaking, here Alaya and ignorance are the same thing. Therefore, for ordinary sentient beings, even when the luminosity of the upper base and the appearances of the lower base, the Bardo of Dharmata, arise, because of the ignorance of not recognizing one's own nature or not understanding the true state, it has never been separated, so it is called the coemergent ignorance of one self-nature. That is also the Alaya, and it is said that way from the point of view of not seeing one's own nature and being the basis of delusion. Saying one self-nature does not mean that the two, awareness-wisdom and the ignorance of Alaya, are the same entity, the same substance, but it is said that way from the point of view of never having been separated, like gold and dirt. As it is said in the "The Treasury of Qualities", when the ignorance of Alaya becomes slightly coarser, the grasping is slightly clearer than before. For example, when you see many people gathered from a distance, but you cannot grasp each one and think, "This is it," in the same way, when ignorance cannot clearly grasp the object in a reversed way, it is called coemergent ignorance. Thus, this Alaya is divided into three types: the Alaya of original meaning, the Alaya of application meaning, and the Alaya of habitual body. The first two are both the Alaya and its consciousness just mentioned. The imputed ignorance is not the root of clinging to the self of phenomena and persons, but like the Tirthikas. The distinction between Alaya and awareness is, as stated in "Distinguishing the Three Essentials": Alaya is the basis of all samsara and nirvana, like muddy water without distinction; from the slumbering stupor of bewilderment, the clarity of wisdom-awareness is obscured; Dharmakaya is like muddy water, possessing the nature of being cleansed of adventitious stains; it is the essence of all liberation qualities, the wisdom that will never be deluded again. Therefore, just as water and mud are distinguished, it is a reversal from the part that is not predicted. Take a firm stand in the expanse of self-aware Dharmakaya; behold the spectacle in the realm of immaculate wisdom. The Alaya-consciousness is like ice in water; the ability to grasp arises in the nature of its essence; it is mostly deceived by attachment to the object of grasping. Therefore, form, feeling, perception,
