Therefore, it should be known how to combine with specific circumstances. Among the four types of recitation, the first is the recitation of the approaching limb, like a moon and star garland: repeatedly focus on the seed syllable and the mantra garland emitting light. Then, gradually, the sound of the mantra emanates from the mouths of all the deities, and the syllables of the mantra also rise slightly from the seat with their own sound, first with light surrounding them. Then, the mantra garland itself gradually rotates faster, emitting light from it, filling the entire inside of the body. Visualize that diseases, evil spirits, sins, obscurations, and habitual tendencies are all cleared away. The second is the near approach, like the turning of a friction-fire wheel, or like the recitation of a vessel: from the mantra garland in the heart, a second mantra garland emanates, the syllables touching each other but not sticking, a continuous mantra garland with the mantra's own sound, like a friction-fire wheel turning, emanating sequentially from the mouths of the wisdom deity and the samaya deity, entering the mouth of the mother, stimulating the mind stream. The inside of the body arises through the lotus, from the vajra path of both the father deity and the wisdom deity upwards, the bodhicitta, with the nature of great bliss, trembles joyfully, dissolving into the seed syllable in the heart, visualize obtaining the supreme accomplishment, this is the recitation of wisdom. The third is the accomplishment limb, like a king's messenger, or like the recitation of expanding and contracting: due to reciting the mantra, the life-force mantra garland and so on emit five-colored light, filling the sky, from the tip of the light emanate countless offering goddesses and offerings. Offer inconceivable offerings that please the mind to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and their retinues who pervade the sky. The deities are pleased with the uncontaminated great bliss. Visualize that the blessings and accomplishments of body, speech, and mind, in the form of body mudras, speech syllables, and mind symbols, or in the form of white, red, and blue light, descend like rain and dissolve into one's own three doors, thereby purifying the two obscurations and their habitual tendencies, perfecting the two accumulations, and obtaining the four empowerments all at once, this is the visualization of gathering blessings for one's own benefit. Furthermore, the light shines, touching all sentient beings of the three realms and six classes, causing their karma, afflictions, sins, obscurations, and individual sufferings to be purified in an instant.

Also, may the Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Bodhisattvas be liberated from the obscurations of knowledge. The recitation of activities for the benefit of others is to contemplate that the three doors of body, speech, and mind of all beings abide in the essence of the three vajras. In this case, the contemplation of any of the four activities should also be known as illusory wisdom. Fourth, the branch of great accomplishment, like a shattered beehive, is to contemplate that the light rays emanating from the deity's mantra transform the outer vessel world into a palace, the inner sentient beings into the deity's mandala, the sound into the nature of the mantra, and the thoughts into the play of wisdom. Reciting in a state of non-grasping is the recitation of non-duality of self and other. When counting the fifty-three letters, including vowels and consonants, there are sixteen vowels, thirty-four consonants, and the three symbols of head, dot, and tail. As for the three symbols of head, dot, and tail, as stated in the Root Tantra: "The head is the unerring path, the dot is called wisdom, and the tail cuts off the great method." Thus, the head is like an elephant's trunk, the dot is like the eye of Īśvara (梵文,Īśvara,īśvara,自在), and the tail is like a long arrow. Sakya Pandita said, "There are three 'A's: the 'A' like a lion, the 'A' like an elephant's trunk, and the 'A' that cuts off boundaries." When counting the forty letters representing the marks and signs, the method of adding six extra letters to the thirty-four consonants is as follows: In the accomplishment method "Crown Jewel" by the teacher Kālacakra, it says, "Add six letters: ḍa, ḍha, da, dha, la, and ya." In the "Ear of Secret Instructions of Abhayākara," it says, "Add six letters: ḍa, ḍha, ya, ra, la, and va." The dhāraṇī of the door of obtaining patience, the dhāraṇī of words, the dhāraṇī of meaning, the dhāraṇī capable of blessing—these are the four doors of dhāraṇī. When reciting mantras, one must abandon six faults: If the sound is too fast, there is the fault of mixing syllables; if the sound is too slow, there is the fault of connecting improperly; if the sound is too loud, conflict arises and blessings are delayed; if the sound is too weak, power does not arise; if one falls into dullness, the sound is unpleasant; if one is too excited, one becomes distracted and the mind wanders, causing the fault of unclear samādhi. Furthermore, do not interrupt with idle talk. How should one recite? Recite clearly, without mixing sounds, without separating them, and without interrupting. Recite correctly, without omissions or additions in the mantra, pronouncing each syllable accurately. Recite diligently, continuously like the flow of a river. The mind of the Buddhas.
