If there is no karmic connection to let life be exhausted in the vast expanse of the ultimate liberation, what could be better? Furthermore, if the key point of meditative equipoise is not grasped, a state of uncertainty, neither this nor that, undecided and at a loss, will arise. When stability is greatly attained in that, it is an experience that is not stolen by circumstances. Although days and nights pass in cycles, there is no essence; if there is no clarity of awareness in that empty, hollow state, then no matter how good the nature of the practice is, it is only an experience. However, some contemporary spiritual friends seem to introduce this as a realization that mixes day and night, which is like a blind person leading a blind person, wasting life in vain and exhausting the hope of generating qualities. Omniscient Jigme Lingpa said: 'Mind clear, empty, and abiding, The superior seeing of conceptual thought is cunning, The three of the realm of the unpredicted are without action, These three are weeds from the Dzogchen field.' 'The bondage of meditation, mindfulness, and retention, The empty experience deliberately grasped by the mind, The three of expanding on what the mind understands, You three are also weeds from the Dzogchen field.' 'The view and meditation of sharp mind and consciousness, The attachment to experience wrapped in conceptual thought, The three defiled by the stains of mental experience, You three are also weeds from the Dzogchen field.' So it is said. Furthermore, some think that past thoughts have ceased, future thoughts have not arisen, and present awareness is identified, and they make the strong experience of emptiness the core of meditation, but that is merely the behavior of children. As it says in the Wish-Fulfilling Treasury: 'Because a moment is identified and changes, Who can abide in the interval between before and after meditation? Such a wrong path contradicts the sutras and tantras, If you desire liberation, you should abandon it far away.' Also, in "Clarifying the Innate Suchness of the Great Seal," it is said: 'Seeing the emptiness between the cessation of the former and the arising of the latter as the nature of reality is said to be like a famine arising for meditators.' It should be known. Furthermore, some foolish meditators who are not guided by a virtuous spiritual friend throw stones in the dark. They lack the key instruction that whatever arises in the clear light, the boundless expanse, appears as the play of wisdom, and they simply abide in a single-pointed state of clear and empty awareness. When thoughts suddenly arise from that state,

Even if one recognizes this and relaxes into the nature, maintaining that state, the Second Omniscient One considers this to be a samadhi similar to that of the formless gods. Furthermore, some great meditators keep whatever thoughts arise in an uncorrected state, claiming that this is dharmata, the essence of their practice, and proclaim it as a profound dharma that others do not have. However, if a yogi who has attained a high realization analyzes this, they will find that there are very subtle distinctions within it. Therefore, this is not the view of the most profound yoga of the highest vehicle. For how can one keep whatever arises in an uncorrected state? For the thoughts that arise, there is not even a particle of material things such as visible shapes and colors, so to separate the thought that keeps it and the memory of the keeper is as meaningless as merely describing the color of a lotus in the sky. Furthermore, for those great meditators who experience quiescence like a bee stuck to honey, when they are not distracted, they can keep the mind in a state of non-thought merely through mindfulness. If mindfulness does not clearly illuminate it, then it is no different from an ordinary person. If one places this as the basis of the view when one is not distracted and not meditating, it seems to be blissful. Here, for the characteristics of the self-system of the Omniscient Father and Sons and their lineage, when mindfulness spontaneously vanishes, the appearance of mindfulness arises as the wheel of wisdom and expands in the state of dharmata, so there is no need to separately seek mindfulness. If it is extracted from the sheath of a good view, what will mindfulness cling to? When the place of distraction has vanished into dharmata, who will be the guide of distraction? Liberated from the expanse of intention, one reaches the intention of Samantabhadra, the primordially pure, without any object of reliance. From the "Treasury of the Natural State" it is also said: "Without object, without dharma, har (Tibetan, meaning emptiness) appearing, vast and boundless, the intention of non-distraction and exhaustion of mindfulness, like space, boundless, without meditation and non-meditation. This is the great expanse of Samantabhadra's intention." Thus, for speculators and foolish meditators, there is no karmic connection with the Great Perfection of Naturalness. The Omniscient Lord of Speech said: "Alas, this is greater than the difference between other vehicles than the difference between heaven and earth. Even if taught, they do not understand; even if explained, they do not comprehend. For those who merely grasp the name of the Dharma and do not rest on the previous recognition, there is no karmic connection with the secret heart essence of the Great Perfection of Naturalness. Whatever they do
