It is said that when thoughts arise, they arise and dissolve on their own. Among the three types of thoughts to be liberated—good thoughts, bad thoughts, and intermediate thoughts—the liberation of good thoughts refers to the clear and relaxed disappearance of thoughts of attachment to self, arrogance, pride, and other conceptualizations on top of virtuous minds. If you do not understand this, it is absolutely wrong to think that all aspects of good thoughts and virtuous minds must be eliminated. Renunciation of samsara, bodhicitta seeking the benefit of others, pure perception of pure appearances, devotion to kind lamas, faith in those with qualities, and other virtuous minds must be practiced continuously from now until the heart of enlightenment. This has been repeatedly emphasized. Bad thoughts are all thoughts of attachment, hatred, and ignorance. Intermediate thoughts are all neutral thoughts that are neither beneficial nor harmful, such as thinking about earth and stones. These must be liberated in the realm of meditative equipoise, becoming the self-display of clear light awareness. As it is said, "Whether realized or not is mixed with conditions, whether familiar or not, ask the sleep of night," although many difficult-to-liberate situations have been mentioned, they are not written here. In short, liberation means not abandoning outer appearances, but liberating on top of appearances, like a small bird being carried away by a hawk; not abandoning inner movements, but liberating on top of movements, like drawing a picture on water. It is said that this is the intermediate virtue, the true inseparability of the guru's mind. Finally, before the rope of samadhi breaks, before being controlled by dullness, sleep, and confusion, it is very important to dedicate the merit. Therefore, in front of the witnesses of dedication, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the root of merit to be dedicated is what I have accumulated in the three times with the three doors of body, speech, and mind, and encouraging others to do so, and rejoicing in the merit of others, etc. All the roots of virtue accumulated by myself and others in the three times are gathered together with wisdom, and like a sighted person seeing objects, visualize it as if it were directly perceived. For the sake of the objects of dedication, all sentient beings not abiding in the two extremes, may they attain the state of perfect and complete enlightenment. Just as the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas dedicate, so shall I dedicate, with a mind free from doubt, like a strong man shooting an arrow. This is after the dedication.

This is merely conformity. It can also serve as a substitute for the dedication of the three circles without objectification. The characteristic of non-objectification should be placed on the noble ones. Thus, it is important to have short sessions with many repetitions, including the three aspects of preparation, main practice, and conclusion. Therefore, one should practice sixty-five times a day, or as stated in the Black Thigle of the Golden Seed, no less than one hundred and twenty-five times. For beginners, the sessions should be short with many repetitions. As Orgyen Rinpoche said, "Short sessions, many repetitions, like drops in an empty room." It is like that. Furthermore, do not waste time on activities such as subduing enemies, protecting relatives, agricultural work, livestock management, offerings to the Sangha, village festivals, or business profits. Whether in high places or low places, whether day or night, wherever you are, whoever you associate with, whatever you do, at all times, visualize Guru Rinpoche, the embodiment of all refuges, inseparable from the Lama, on the crown of your head, and receive the four empowerments. Visualize him in the center of your heart, blend your mind with the Lama's mind, and think of nothing but the Lama. Let your mind be captivated by the Lama, and let everything that appears arise as the Lama. If you can practice like this, then in the bardo of existence in the future, the Lama will actually come there, bestow empowerment, and introduce you to the nature of your mind. The Yidam will dispel obstacles, and the Dakinis will protect you from hindrances and liberate you, as stated in the Supreme Vehicle Treasury. In short, now that you have obtained the precious human body, met a qualified Lama, encountered the sacred Dharma, and received the nectar of instructions, in this time when encountering the Vajrayana is even more difficult than encountering a Buddha, you should enter this teaching with joy and delight, like a swan entering a lotus-filled lake, or a bee flying in a fragrant lotus grove. To demolish the house of the preliminary mind, there are three methods: cutting off thoughts, searching for the mind's weaknesses, and examining the place of origin, dwelling, and destination. First, identifying the root of samsara is like the instruction of identifying a thief. Samsara has no end, and likewise, sentient beings have no end. From beginningless delusion until today, we have been spinning in this realm of samsara like a potter's wheel, without a guide in front.
