Thus it was said. Shariputra, any son or daughter of good family who wishes to practice the profound Prajnaparamita should view it in this way: they should also truly observe that those five aggregates are empty of inherent existence. Form is emptiness; emptiness is form. Emptiness is not other than form; form is also not other than emptiness. Likewise, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are empty. Shariputra, therefore, all phenomena are emptiness; without characteristics, unborn, unceasing, without impurity, without separation from impurity, without decrease, without increase. Shariputra, therefore, in emptiness there is no form, no feeling, no perception, no formation, no consciousness. No eye, no ear, no nose, no tongue, no body, no mind. No form, no sound, no smell, no taste, no touch, no phenomena. From no eye element up to no mind element, and also up to no element of mental consciousness. No ignorance, up to no exhaustion of ignorance. No old age and death, up to no exhaustion of old age and death. There is no suffering, no origin, no cessation, no path. There is no wisdom, and also no non-wisdom. There is no attainment, and also no non-attainment. Shariputra, therefore, because Bodhisattvas have no attainment, they abide relying on Prajnaparamita. Because their minds are without obscuration, they have no fear; having completely transcended what is inverted, they reach the end of Nirvana. All the Buddhas who abide in the three times also rely on Prajnaparamita and manifestly awaken to unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. Therefore, the Prajnaparamita mantra, the great knowledge mantra, the unsurpassed mantra, the unequaled and equalizing mantra, the mantra that thoroughly pacifies all suffering, since it is not deceptive, should be known as true. The Prajnaparamita mantra, which is spoken: Tadyatha. oṃ gate gate pāragate pārasaṃgate bodhi svāhā. Shariputra, therefore, Bodhisattvas

A great bodhisattva should thus train in the profound Perfection of Wisdom. Then, the Blessed One arose from that samadhi, granted the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the noble Avalokiteshvara, the word "Well done!" and said: Well done! Well done! Son of good family! It is just so, it is just so! As you have taught, the profound Perfection of Wisdom should be practiced, and the Thus-Gone Ones also rejoice. Having spoken thus, the Blessed One, the venerable Shariputra, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the noble Avalokiteshvara, and all those assembled, together with the gods, humans, asuras, and gandharvas, rejoiced, and praised the words spoken by the Blessed One. The Heart Sutra of the Perfection of Wisdom of the Blessed One is complete. Born in the sacred land, accomplished asceticism in a place without direction, performed deeds for the benefit of beings in both China and Tibet, may the holy Buddha bestow auspiciousness!
