It is said. Then, the master takes the vase for examining the signs, places it on a cushion of silk or coarse cloth, and extracts the signs in order. From this, it will be possible to determine when the disciples will attain enlightenment, i.e., in the past, present, or future. This is similar to the way the thousand Buddhas of the Fortunate Aeon will attain enlightenment in sequence. These are the extensive instructions. Alternatively, it can be done as in the case of self-entry. The vase can be either the Victorious Vase and the Action Vase, or just the Action Vase. Without the second Action Vase and the vase for examining the signs, the other preparations, self-initiation, the entry of the disciples into the mandala, and the vase initiation before the empowerment should be done as usual. Even without the subsequent permission of the four actions, the permission of the forty-two hand symbols, and the examination of the signs, there will be no fault of incompleteness, and the purpose will be accomplished. So it is said. Then, offer the torma according to the method of accomplishment. Please all with the 'Tsa Ru' offerings. Again, offer and praise the mandala, and pray: 'Protector, great compassionate one, together with your retinue, please listen! I do not wish to be liberated from suffering and abide in happiness for myself, but for the sake of all sentient beings in the ten directions to attain the supreme accomplishment of the Great Seal, please bless me to attain the accomplishments of body, speech, and mind in the practice of the noble path.' Thus pray. Complete any deficiencies with the Hundred Syllable Mantra. If accomplished, perform a peaceful fire offering. If not attained or deficient, ask for forgiveness of faults. Dedicate the merit to enlightenment. With 'Om, may you accomplish all the benefits of sentient beings,' etc., the wisdom beings depart to their natural abode. Gather the commitment beings into oneself. Protect oneself with 'Om Ah Hum Raksha Raksha Hum.' Recite the Akaro mantra, gather the colored powders, and apply the seal of non-objectification. Give away the colored powders. Invite the remaining offerings to the river that flows into the ocean. Make the traces of the activity invisible. Speak auspicious words. May it be auspicious. This ritual called 'The Source of Compassion,' which is the method of entrusting the knowledge of the noble Avalokiteśvara with a thousand hands and a thousand eyes, is based on the detailed ritual of the Eleven-Faced Avalokiteśvara, the Padma Codpan Tantra, etc., as well as the sadhana composed by the noble Nāgārjuna, the permission ritual composed by Chandragomin, and the treatises and commentaries composed by the bhikṣuṇī Śrīmatī and the great Lord Atiśa, etc., compiled by the Tibetan lamas.
