Because cognition is also a characteristic of प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure). Therefore, 'also' is to include non-deception. The wisdom that newly cognizes its own object of engagement is the characteristic of प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure). If so, then after cognizing blue, etc., the consciousness that apprehends its generality will also become प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure)? Answer: When analyzing the characteristics of प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure), if the subject of knowledge (chos can) was not previously known, then the consciousness that cognizes its generality, etc., will not become प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure). Because you think that whatever is previously unknown, newly cognizing its own characteristics, is the characteristic of प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure). The reason is: subject of knowledge (chos can), प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure) must newly cognize its own object of engagement, because those who seek results only analyze their own characteristics and act accordingly. Proving that the Buddha who possesses these characteristics is प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure): The second part is: The Bhagavan (bcom ldan 'das, blessed one) is a person (skyes bu, puruṣa) of प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure), because for higher realms (mngon mtho, abhyudaya), definite goodness (nges legs, niḥśreyasa), etc., he does not deceive beings, and he is the ultimate person (skyes bu, puruṣa) who truly teaches the four noble truths, etc., which beings do not know. Just like प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure) that does not deceive and clarifies the unknown. Explaining 'becoming': The second part has four aspects: To refute self-origination, 'becoming' is spoken; the Great Sage (thub chen, mahāmuni) becomes प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure) through skillful means; explaining in detail the refutation of self-origination; eliminating the lack of proof of प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure). To refute self-origination, 'becoming' is spoken: The first part is: Why is 'becoming' spoken? Because the phrase 'becoming of offering praise' is necessary, as it itself is to refute the प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure) that is generally unborn, permanent, and self-originated. The Great Sage (thub chen, mahāmuni) becomes प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure) through skillful means: The second part is: The Bhagavan (bcom ldan 'das, blessed one) should be a person (skyes bu, puruṣa) of प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure), because he relies on special skillful means and achieves the ultimate with great effort. Explaining in detail the refutation of self-origination: The third part has four aspects: Refuting the permanent, self-originated प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure); refuting the proof of the existence of self-origination; refuting that self-origination is the cause of all things. Refuting the permanent, self-originated प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure): The first part is: There exists a permanent प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure), because the wisdom of Īśvara (dbang phyug,自在天) is permanent. Answer: The knowable (shes bya, jñeya), should not be a permanent thing of प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure), because प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure) is the wisdom that cognizes existing things. This is pervasive, because if the object of engagement is impermanent, then the subject of engagement must also be unstable. If the wisdom of Īśvara (dbang phyug,自在天) is impermanent, but Īśvara (dbang phyug,自在天) is permanent? The wisdom of Īśvara (dbang phyug,自在天) should not arise from the permanent Īśvara (dbang phyug,自在天), because it arises sequentially. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If it is said that the permanent also depends on conditions and thus generates cognition in sequence, then, Īśvara (the creator and ruler of the universe), you should not generate pramāṇa (valid means of cognition) in sequence, because it is not permissible to depend on your own conditions, because no form of condition can benefit you, because you are permanent. Secondly, if it is said that there is a non-human, self-born pramāṇa, then, knowable (jñeya, object to be known), it should not exist, because there is no pramāṇa to prove its existence. Thirdly, we also have arguments for Īśvara: the way the world exists, the senses, etc., are created by a person of outstanding intelligence after thinking, because they abide and function, like houses; because they have special shapes, like palaces, etc.; because they have functions, like weapons, etc.; and so on, because they are inanimate, like houses, etc. If it is said like this, then in general, are you arguing that there is merely prior intelligence, or are you specifically arguing that the intelligence of the permanent Īśvara is prior? If according to the first statement, then in general, merely having prior intelligence, in the presence of the Buddha, it is not necessary to prove with correct reasons, because you have already admitted this in the presence of the Buddha, and your purpose has been achieved. If according to the second statement, then houses, etc., you argue that the existence of the world, etc., is created by a permanent person after thinking, then the example with the same properties is not established, because they are created by impermanent people. Or, shapes, etc., abiding and functioning, etc., these are not correct reasons for you to argue that Īśvara created them, because there is doubt about the pervasiveness of the argument. That is to say, Īśvara, Īśvara created them, because they abide, function, and have effects. The blessing is like this: shapes, etc., that change according to the presence or absence of the agent (kartṛ, actor), similar to houses, porches, etc., through which it can be inferred that they are made by the creator, this reasoning is the same. Because its pakṣa (thesis) is completely established and the pervasiveness is complete. The shape of the way the world exists (here the original text has a missing page) is different from man-made objects, like pots, etc., the shapes are similar, because there is no difference merely in shape. This reason, the shape of the way the world exists, etc., is created by a person with special abilities after thinking, this reason should not be a correct reason, because it is not pervasive. Like gray. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
