I shall not leave it out. Like extracting the essence of the vast mandala of the earth, the nectar congeals into the essence of the earth. Myangtö (Miyangtö, now in the Shigatse area of Tibet) is the source of wisdom, a region endowed with the glory of divine and human laws. Only virtuous and wise people single-mindedly turn towards goodness, advancing in the direction of the ten virtuous actions, making this place like a city of immortality. This is a land inhabited solely by beings of wisdom, as if ascending a staircase of pure white crystal. A place called Phuhawo Gangzang, is the abode of the Yaksha King Gangwa Zangpo, where his son Norbu Zangpo also resides. Here is a description of how various good and bad landforms are present, like an arrow inserted, like an umbrella handle supporting, like a face facing forward. In the past, temples and monastic communities were established here, greatly developing the teachings, the root of benefit and happiness. Many wise individuals realized supreme accomplishments, and their footprints spread, blessing this land. They built many statues and scriptures, laying the foundation for higher rebirth and definite goodness. I am recording these historical accounts that are clear in my mind. First, the holy person who blessed this land explained the term “རྒྱ་སྐད་རྭ་རྒྱ་” (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning), saying it means to taste the flavor. He narrated the greatness of this place and its desirable qualities. He narrated the manner in which the extraordinary individuals who inhabited this place appeared in succession, in three parts. The first part is: The great mountain where vultures gather. In Tibet, it is called "The great mountain where desirable things gather." Guru Rinpoche, Padmasambhava, along with his twenty-five disciples, arrived at the summit of this great mountain and blessed the land. At that time, Indra, the lord of the gods, came holding a crystal vase filled with nectar, offered the nectar vase to Guru Rinpoche, and requested him to taste the flavor of the divine nectar. Guru Rinpoche blessed the nectar vase, making it inexhaustible. The nectar from the vase was distributed to the twenty-five disciples. The master said, "Fortunate sons, go and taste the flavor of the divine nectar!" Therefore, the name of this place is called "Myang," meaning to taste the divine nectar. Afterwards, a large amount of divine nectar flowed out, and Guru Rinpoche and his disciples, holding the nectar vase, poured the nectar on the summit of Gangwa Sang mountain, and this snow mountain was also blessed by the divine nectar.

After being blessed, those rivers are called Myangchu, and also known as Myang gser gzhung ring mo, which tastes like the nectar of the gods. It is said that especially the snow mountains in the area were also poured with the nectar of the gods. Most of the direct disciples of Guru Padmasambhava received that nectar. Because that nectar was very special and precious, it was carefully preserved. Those later disciples who were able to taste the flavor of the nectar's water flow, their families were also honored as "Myang Myang." I think it is reasonable to say so. If it is said that it is called "Myang" because it was blessed by a yogi from Myang po, that is purely nonsense, which is neither reasonable nor has any basis. Because tasting the nectar is called "Myang," this is a credible and well-founded statement. At that time, the upper part of Lung dmar was blocked by ice and snow, and all the other valleys were covered by forests. Guru Padmasambhava burned all the forests with the fire of wisdom. He also made the nectar water flow of Yaksha Gang bzang, which is Myangchu, flow to the high places. This river became the sole cause of benefiting the Dharma and sentient beings, and he prayed that this place would be rich in products, abundant in grains, and lush in trees, and this is all due to the power of his true vows. Second, describing the greatness of this place and the desired things: Like this, the place blessed by the holy ones, the five grains are abundant, and various trees and plants grow luxuriantly, thus possessing satisfactory wealth and prosperity. Because the Dharma is flourishing, this is the center of Dharma gatherings. In Myang stod gzhung, there are seven temples from the early Dharma period. There is the Lha khang of the King of Astrology. There are three Han-style roofs. King Khri srong lde'u btsan (according to the usual saying, it is considered that the lord Khri ral pa can was earlier). The eastern Han-style roof is of King Srong btsan sgam po. The Han-style roof below it is of the lord Khri srong lde'u btsan. The Han-style roof below it is of King Ral pa can. During the time of King Khri srong lde'u btsan, some of the Yuanjiang (yon ljongs) remained. In Tagtse (rtag rtse), there are five Deru temples (rtee ra dgon pa). In Tsep (btsas phu), there is Depu Temple (bde phu dgon pa).
