Wishing to establish the kingdom in the sacred Dharma, the king himself also encouraged the performance of great virtuous deeds. He himself built a temple and a residence for monks in the center of the garden, surrounded by stupas, and constructed many layers of iron fences. At that time, one who served as a servant of the teacher was the king's scribe, and two others were ministers. They developed evil intentions and secretly conspired, saying, "We three must find a way to take possession of these lands." On one occasion, the scribe said to the king, "Padma Avabhasa (པདྨ་ཨ་བ་བྷ་སི་,梵文天城体:padma avabhāsa,梵文罗马拟音:padma avabhāsa,Lotus Light) certainly desires to rule the kingdom. He himself and the approximately one thousand ordained monks residing in his garden are skilled in warfare and are all warriors on the battlefield. Although he pretends to transform the garden into a temple, in reality, building strong iron fences and so on is for the purpose of fighting against the king." When the king inquired of the ministers, due to the proclamation and jealousy of the two ministers, all the ministers also spoke in agreement with them. The king sent those ministers along with an army. At that time, in Uḍḍiyāna, there was no law for kings to kill Brahmins, ascetics, and paṇḍitas, so the king proclaimed, "O leader, you and your monastic community of veneration, abandon your belongings and go to another land." The monastic community departed. The teacher also intended to leave in the same way, but the ministers said, "If we do not kill him, he will bring harm to us later." So they sent many executioners. When those executioners bound the teacher with ropes and iron chains, by the power of the vidyā-mantra, the ropes were cut, the iron chains were destroyed, and when weapons were struck, the teacher's body was not harmed, but the weapons were broken into many pieces. When burned with fire, he was not burned; when thrown into water, he dove into the water like a bird and went away. When thrown off a cliff, he was not harmed. When buried after digging a hole, he tunneled through the earth for a long distance and escaped, and even when captured, he could not be held. After that, the teacher did not go to the cities, but wandered and practiced from charnel ground to charnel ground in other lands. The ghosts and rakshasas of the charnel grounds became friends.

Then, the former king's scribes, ministers, and executioners, within seven days, some died from their houses burning down, and some ended their own lives, leaving no one behind. The king was also seized by venomous snakes and passed away. Thereafter, the teacher stayed in those charnel grounds for a long time, becoming friends with powerful beings such as spirits, demons, flesh-eaters, and dakinis. He diligently practiced the recitation of vidya-mantras, and as a result, he beheld all the Vajra Wrathful Deities, including the Victorious One of the Three Realms and Yama, and heard their voices. He interacted with beings like the Great Black One and the Seven Mothers as if conversing with people. He subjugated all the nagas and fierce yakshas as servants. He gained mastery over hundreds of thousands of fierce mantras of both the mundane and supramundane realms. At that time, together with powerful non-human beings, he repeatedly visited the eight great charnel grounds that had existed since the beginning of time in Jambudvipa, using the power of mantra recitation. In those places, he also met the eight divine teachers who had been there since the beginning. He accomplished one common siddhi from each of them. Specifically, in the charnel ground of Ghora Andhakaraṇa, lived a teacher named Dhanuskrita. He accomplished the siddhi of the sword. In the densely overgrown charnel ground, lived a teacher named Sai-buja. His siddhi was the pill. In the blazing and overgrown charnel ground, lived a teacher named Nima-buja. His siddhi was the eye medicine. In the terrifying skull charnel ground, lived a teacher named Amritaprabha. His siddhi was the boots. In the Aṭṭaṭṭahāsana charnel ground, lived a teacher named Shivamkara. His siddhi was the medicine that destroys all diseases. In the charnel ground of the Glorious Forest, lived a teacher named Vararuci, also known as Supreme Desire. His siddhi was the elixir of immortality. In the noisy charnel ground, lived a teacher named Naked One. His siddhi was the treasure vase. In the extremely fierce charnel ground, lived a teacher named Nganpong. His siddhi was the alchemical substance for transmuting gold. Having obtained these, he became a vidyadhara. Now he thought, 'I will practice conduct and attain Buddhahood.' In a dream, Buddha Amitabha said, 'Without seeing Suchness and without clairvoyance, the actions of a fierce hero will greatly obstruct the desired siddhis. Your Great Seal with just this much...
