These are just a few brief points on the matter. The view should be as vast as the sky; experience in practice is essential. A view without experience remains merely at the level of intellectual understanding. For a beginner yogi, it is difficult to immediately recognize the innate wisdom. Therefore, it is important to strive in both shamatha and vipassanā. The nine ways of abiding of the mind, etc., are the stages of practicing shamatha. And the various classifications of mundane and supramundane vipassanā, etc., are numerous. I prefer the essence, so I will not elaborate on too many details here. The experience of profound suchness, and a few points related to it, are: alternating practice of analysis and abiding, etc., which are extensively explained in various treatises. Although that can also become a path, it is not necessary for those who have the oral instructions. The nature is primordially free from elaboration, and the king of methods for recognizing this, is unparalleled, which is devotion to a qualified guru. In order for one's own mind to master one's own mind, practice shamatha. The nature is primordially free from elaboration, and in order to generate certainty, one should search for the mind. That self-mind that is ultimately determined, is sufficient with just recognition, therefore, continuously maintain uninterrupted mindfulness. Without mindfulness, it is difficult to recognize. Because it is the primordial reality, the uncorrected, natural state is crucial. Whatever arises is innate, so relaxing and abiding is the key to practice. The key to perfecting all actions and practices is to bring out the power. Seeing the guru as the dharmakaya, with devotion, blessings become the path, and that is practice. These seven essential points are the guru's teachings, and to bring practice to the extreme, they are indispensable. Unstained by the two, sinking and excitement, one's own mind, clear and empty, without grasping, letting go, going, abiding, staying, attaining freedom, is the root of shamatha practice. If there is dullness, tighten and bring out the vigor. If there is excitement, loosen and lower the gaze. Whatever actions one does in between sessions, it is important to maintain the awareness of abiding. Whether it is a deity, bindu, etc., whatever classifications of visualization are spoken of, the unconditioned awareness, in non-practice, abiding alone is the most profound. By looking at one's own mind with one's own mind, it is clear and inexpressible, impossible to capture. Searching for conventional form, color, place, and time, one cannot find them, and thus one sees the primordial reality. At that time, one's own mind is empty.

Oh, clear and luminous Dharmakaya! Though ever-present, it was previously unknown. Since continuous recognition is necessary, it is crucial to always maintain mindfulness. When the object and subject of mindfulness are not purified in the expanse, know to see your own face when mindfulness arises. When mindfulness fades, it is like an ordinary person. Recognition is the root of mindfulness. Abiding without recognition is ignorance. Having recognized your own face, conceptual thought is the Dharmakaya. Knowing that everything is the play of the Dharmakaya, otherwise, everything is the deception of elaboration. Place water and fire in self-luminous unity. As the great Brahmin once said. Unfabricated, pristine is the essence of practice and meditation. Artificial experiences, though good, are like debt. Meditating on emptiness through intellectual analysis, as well as emptiness of gradual absorption and dispersion, and the blessings of deity meditation, mantra recitation, etc., and the experience of emptiness from meditating on the yoga of the channels, and the clarity from meditating on the instructions of the winds, and the bliss-wisdom from meditating on bindus, and the various appearances of constant appearance, all are dependent on conditions and are sudden. Like seeing illusions when substances and mantras are combined, when causes and conditions come together, they arise, otherwise they do not. Unstable, impermanent, waxing and waning, fading away. Not primordial, they arise and cease instantly. If embraced by the practice of unfabricated, naturalness, then all of them are the unchanging Dharmakaya. No matter how good meditation made by the mind may be, it is superficial and without essence, a mere trifle. Labeling it as good, modifying it as an antidote, and modifying it in various ways with conceptual delusion, like mist and clouds obscuring the sky, is an obstacle to seeing the true face of reality. There is no need to transform gold dust into gold. All appearances and sounds are naturally free from elaboration. There is no need to fabricate new elaborations with methods. Leave that nature without modification. If you recognize your own face without conceptualization and your mind abides, then rest naturally in that state like the sky. However good or bad conceptual thoughts may arise, leave them without modification and relax. Even when afflictions arise, whatever arises is clear and empty. Even when renunciation and compassion arise, they are clear and empty. Whatever arises, whatever appears, all is of one taste. If you accept or reject, affirm or deny, you harm yourself. Do not intentionally for afflictions and conceptual thoughts.
