One should purify intensely. In the evening, check whether one has broken any vows during the day. If not, cultivate joy. If so, confess and restrain. During the day, repeatedly refresh one's memory. Whatever happens, endure it. This means that whatever unwanted suffering and inferior circumstances arise, consider them to be the result of past karma. Do not complain or be sad. Purify all the sins and sufferings of others. Strive to find ways to purify obscurations, namely, to endure suffering. When experiencing happiness and wealth, do not be heedless or indifferent. Use wealth for virtuous purposes, transform power into virtuous actions, and pray that all sentient beings may have happiness. In this way, endure happiness. Protect these two as if your life depended on it. This means protecting all the common Buddhist teachings, as well as the teachings of mind training, namely, ensuring that everything one does is free from the attachment of thoughts arising for one's own benefit. One should train in the three difficulties. This means that it is difficult to recognize afflictions at first, so one should recognize them as soon as they arise. It is difficult to restrain them in the middle, so one should abandon them immediately. Finally, it is difficult to cut off the continuum, so one should make a firm resolution, thinking that such a thing will never happen again. One should adjust the three main causes. This means meeting a noble lama, having one's own mindstream be malleable, and having conducive conditions such as food and clothing. If one possesses these three main causes for the arising of virtue, one should pray that all sentient beings may also possess them. If one does not possess them, one should gather together all the three factors that all sentient beings lack, and pray that they may all possess these three factors. Meditate on the three that do not decline. This means training in unwavering devotion to the lama, unwavering warmth in practicing mind training, and unwavering commitment to the precepts of the three vows. One should possess the three that are inseparable. This means that body, speech, and mind should never be separated from virtue at any time. Train in pure impartiality towards objects. Universality and mastery are important for everything. This means that one should universally care for all objects with compassion, including sentient beings and the four elements, both good and bad, and not just in words, but with mastery from the depths of one's heart. One should always meditate on various arrangements. This means that the difficult objects to tame in mind training are hateful enemies,

The obstructing demons. In particular, one should primarily train the mind towards those who, in return for kindness, inflict harm and engage in wrong practices. Do not rely on any other circumstances. Whether it is good or bad, whether one has little or much wealth, whether people are kind or unkind, train the mind without any distinction. Do not rely on others. Now, mainly practice. Now, the next life is more important than this life, and liberation from samsara is more important. More important than talking about benefiting others is practicing. More important than a wise Pandit examining things through reasoning is to steadfastly meditate on the Guru's instructions. Do not reverse things. Unable to bear the suffering of practicing Dharma, yet cultivating patience to conquer enemies and protect relatives is reversed patience. Not aspiring to practice pure Dharma, yet desiring the wealth of this life is reversed desire. Not experiencing the taste of Dharma practice through hearing, contemplation, and meditation, yet tasting the pleasures of worldly possessions is reversed tasting. Not having compassion for those who commit evil, yet having compassion for those who practice austerities for the sake of Dharma is reversed compassion. Not applying worldly actions related to oneself to Dharma, yet applying them to the glory of this life is reversed effort. Not cultivating joy towards the happiness of samsara and nirvana and doing good deeds, yet cultivating joy when enemies suffer is reversed rejoicing. These six reversals should be abandoned. Do not alternate. This means that having generated certainty in Dharma, one should abandon the practice of sometimes practicing and sometimes not, which is a fickle mind. Train decisively. Without being distracted, transform the mind entirely into mind training and train single-mindedly. Liberate through investigation and analysis. This means to bring to mind an object that causes afflictions to arise in one's own mindstream and examine whether strong afflictions arise. If they arise, then strongly meditate on the antidote. Again, look at how self-cherishing is. If it seems to be absent, then think of an object of attachment or hatred and again observe whether self-cherishing arises. If it arises, then immediately abandon it with the antidote of exchanging self and others. Do not boast. This means not boasting to others about how they have been kind to you or how your Dharma practice is for your own benefit. Do not restrain motivation. Do not be jealous of others. Others
