When others harm you or belittle you, do not think of retaliation because your mind is disturbed. Do not show signs of happiness or unhappiness over trivial matters, and do not crave excessive fame. That is, abandon the thought of wanting to gain fame because you practice the Dharma and do good deeds. When the five degenerations flourish, it is the time to transform them into the path to enlightenment. This essential nectar instruction was transmitted from the master of Gold Island. It is also said that at this time, the teachings of the master of Gold Island are: All thoughts must be destroyed, and all antidotes must be completely defeated. All desires must be united, and all actions must be finalized. The four methods of purifying antidotes are necessary for taming those in border regions. Enduring bad environments and evil deeds is necessary in the degenerate age. It is said that as soon as a thought arises, it should be destroyed in emptiness. As soon as afflictions arise, they should be immediately suppressed with antidotes. All desires should be united on how to destroy self-grasping and what benefits self-grasping has for the mind. The path should be finalized, and there is no need to consider the stages of the path. Enlightenment is achieved by destroying self-grasping. Adverse circumstances are virtuous friends, ghosts and spirits are manifestations of the Buddhas, illness is the firewood of sins, and suffering is the manifestation of Dharma nature. The four universal afflictive dharmas, border regions, etc., are the same as above. If undesirable things happen, they will encourage virtue. If demonic disturbances occur, they will accumulate merit and increase vows. If illness occurs, it will eliminate sins. The nature of suffering is emptiness. Because it is Dharma nature, it can be practiced. It is good if all these things happen. This is the great oppression of happiness, the great accumulation of sins, the most unnecessary desire, and the transformation of bad omens into auspiciousness. The four dharmas of reversing antidotes, border regions, etc., are the same as above. If it seems very happy, one will want to do all kinds of non-Dharmic things, so from the perspective of the nature of happiness, happiness does not truly exist. Merely the appearance of happiness is given to all sentient beings. One is able to endure, so it is oppression. A little suffering leads to despair. The appearance of suffering is like a dream or illusion, it cannot be found when searched for, and it is on top of the appearance

Pile up all the unwanted things of all sentient beings. Conclude with the great ending of emptiness of the object of suffering and the agent of suffering. When bad omens and sorcery occur, various kinds of conceptual thoughts arise, and this is what is needed for that. Thinking that all bad omens should be piled on this self-cherishing, do not engage in flattery and stay there. When all unnecessary things fall on your head, this self-cherishing, this is exactly what you need. Thinking, let this be destroyed, and then stay with a comfortable mind. Furthermore, if you are alone, you will feel lonely. Unpleasant thoughts arise due to the power of bad karma. When you stay at home, you want to go out. When you stay in the mountains, you want to go down to the plains. When you go to the plains, you miss the mountain retreat, and so on. In the stages of the Bodhisattva, it is said: Again and again moving the dwelling place, when knowledge is unpleasant and sorrowful, rebuke yourself in this way: You have such a disposition, this dwelling is already very good, your mind is all well. Otherwise, with your ability to endure suffering, before falling into hell, it is really great! Before experiencing burning and roasting, it is really great! And so on. Furthermore, think deeply about fear and scold yourself severely. Deprive yourself of food and practice asceticism. Deprive yourself of clothes and choose inferior ones. Disregarding happiness and suffering, meditate on the antidote. When sick, be a servant to the sick. When sickness occurs, complain to the servant. Thinking that you could have done better, thinking that you are kind to this person, when you think like this, sickness is caused by clinging to the self. No one else is at fault. See if the servant and medicine are helpful. Do not say that you have not done this before. Now, for you who are completely attached to yourself, it is satisfying that this has happened, and staying like this will bring comfort to your heart. I am the root of all faults, a dharma to be thrown away far away. Others are the source of all virtues, a dharma to be grasped tightly. These two dharmas of antidote and conclusion are needed when taming the people of the borderlands. For enduring bad environments and evil practices, it is needed in the degenerate age. Abandoning one's own faults and grasping the benefits of others, all mind training is contained in these two points. Stare fiercely at evil, loosen your attachment to self, and in this way you will be liberated from bondage. Whatever conceptual thoughts arise, bring your mind back.

Like this, scattering outwards, turn inwards and stare. Gaze intently at the essence. In the essence of the present moment, cut it sharply and relax. Thus, although there are countless instructions of the Great Vehicle Mind Training teachings, which are definitely the lineage of Lord Atiśa, all practices are included in this Seven Points of Mind Training root text.
