What is said is also untrue. If a rabbit has no horns, how can there be something as vast as a rabbit's horns? Similarly, if the Dharmadhatu does not exist, it is unreasonable to say that the Dharmadhatu is pure and possesses inconceivable power, thus becoming what it is. If a barren woman has no son, how can the barren woman's son have pure and inconceivable power? Similarly, if the Dharmadhatu does not exist, it is unreasonable to say in many sutras that the boundaries of the Dharmadhatu are vast and filled. If a sky flower does not exist, how can the boundaries of the sky flower be vast and filled? Similarly, if the Dharmadhatu does not exist, it is unreasonable to say in many sutras that the Dharmadhatu pervades everything. If a tortoise has no hair, how can the tortoise's hair pervade everything? Similarly, if the Dharmadhatu does not exist, it is unreasonable to say in the Sutra of the Birthplace of the Tathagata: 'O son of the Victorious One, the Tathagatas are unborn and do not completely pass beyond suffering.' Why? Because the Tathagatas abide in the Dharmadhatu. If a throne of rabbit horns does not exist, no one will sit on a throne of rabbit horns. Similarly, if the Dharmadhatu does not exist, it is unreasonable to say in many sutras that the qualities of the Dharmakaya and the Dharmadhatu are equal. If rabbit horns do not exist, who will be equal to rabbit horns? Similarly, if the Dharmadhatu does not exist, the noble Nagarjuna says: 'I prostrate and pay homage to the Dharmadhatu that dwells in the hearts of all sentient beings.' This is also unreasonable. If rabbit horns do not exist, who will prostrate to rabbit horns? Similarly, if the Dharmadhatu does not exist, the noble Nagarjuna says: 'The Dharmadhatu, obscured by afflictions, is extremely pure, but its light does not shine in samsara; it shines brightly in nirvana.' This is also unreasonable. If a barren woman has no son, how can the barren woman's son have light? Similarly, if the Dharmadhatu does not exist, the glorious Lord Maitreya says:

Having fully realized it oneself, here. (End of quote marker) And, realizing what the nature of the Dharmadhatu is, is seen by the yogi who abides in Samadhi. (End of quote marker) Moreover, the noble Asanga also said: The Bodhisattva on the first ground, the Extremely Joyful, does so in order to realize the meaning of the Dharmadhatu's pervasiveness. (End of quote marker) These statements also become unreasonable, for if a rabbit does not have horns, who can realize the nature of the rabbit's horns and the meaning of the rabbit's horns' pervasiveness? The glorious Dharmakirti also said: 'It is not non-existent, nor is it absent, but to understand it through that is a mistake.' (End of quote marker) Because he said so. These are just a brief statement of the reasons and scriptures that refute the existence of the Dharmadhatu, but in detail, it is limitless. In that case, since the above-mentioned dharmas exist, it is established that the Dharmadhatu exists. Since the Dharmadhatu exists, it is established that the ultimate truth exists. Some say that if sentient beings have the Tathagatagarbha, it will be the same as the self of the non-Buddhists. This dispute also occurred in the past when the Blessed One was alive. There are two ways in which the Blessed One showed that the Tathagatagarbha and the self of the non-Buddhists are not the same. The first is: As it is said in the Lankavatara Sutra, Mahamati asked: The Blessed One spoke of the Tathagatagarbha in other sutras. The Blessed One said that the nature is luminous, completely pure, and from the beginning is the nature of complete purity, possessing the thirty-two marks, and existing in the bodies of all sentient beings. The Blessed One said that just as a precious jewel is wrapped in a cloth stained with dirt, it is wrapped in the cloth of the skandhas, dhatus, and ayatanas, covered by the stains of desire, hatred, and ignorance, and stained by the stains of conceptual thought. If it is said to be permanent, stable, and real, Blessed One, how is this teaching of the Tathagata different from the self spoken of by the non-Buddhists? Blessed One, the non-Buddhists also teach that the self is permanent, the agent, the creator of qualities, pervasive, and indestructible.
