Mix butter, used iron pieces, and red lime together and place them in a linga. Turn the linga upside down, wrap it in rabbit skin, bind it crosswise with yarn made of sheep wool and dog hair, put it in a yak horn, and seal it. In a place with a Sakang (sA khang) or Mani wall, dig a pit two fathoms deep. Mix the yak horn with the previous dwelling of the sacrificed livestock and press it down there, reciting: Hūṃ (seed syllable, ओं, oṃ, Om, the root of all dharmas). I am the king of the Tirthikas! This malicious, disease-causing, red-eyed one, suppress it for a hundred kalpas! Suppress it for two hundred kalpas! Suppress it for three hundred kalpas! Suppress it under Mount Meru! Suppress it under the ocean! Until the Tirthika doctrine is destroyed, suppress it, do not rise! All disease-causing demons, without exception, lam lam kuru kuru destroy! Māraya nān, satvaṃ bhaya nān, śag śag dul dul zhi zhi mal mal svāhā! After reciting, bless with water and fire. Place a blessed Tsatsa (sāccha) on top, and behind the Tsatsa, build a wall of blessed white stones. Around the fields, also surround with many large white stones shaped like ordinary people wearing black hats, with black heads. Visualize the mandala and protection wheel of whichever Yidam is practiced, and recite auspicious prayers. By the merit of doing this, may the crops be abundant, may harm and suffering be pacified, may beings with two legs be healthy, may youth flourish and increase. Having faith in the truth of the Three Jewels, may we practice virtuous Dharma and reach the place of liberation! This was repeatedly urged by Khenpo Lama Tashi Wozer (bkra shis 'od zer) during a time when disease was destroying all regions. Karma Ngawang Yonten Gyatso (karma ngag dbang yon tan rgya mtsho), at the age of eighty-seven, sought reliable sources and carefully compiled it, and it was recorded by the attendant Sang-ngak Tendzin (gsang sngags bstan 'dzin). May auspiciousness increase! The Sang offering ritual to eliminate crop diseases—a great cloud of benefit and happiness. Oṃ svasti. In the disease-protection practice of Lama Gongdu (bla ma dgongs 'dus), it is said to burn smokeless wood smoke to eliminate diseases as an auspicious connection. The woods include: white pine, rhododendron, red sandalwood, fir, etc., woods for the four activities; Berberis, hawthorn, apple, etc., three medicinal woods; Fraxinus, black pine, birch, etc., three woods pleasing to the Nagas and Nyen (klu gnyan); Derris, arrow bamboo, Rosa sericea, etc., three woods pleasing to the earth deities and mothers; Banyan, Quercus, Agarwood, etc., three woods pleasing to the Nagas and Dharma protectors. Burn at the red or gray edge of the field, and if not all are available, use ashes instead, igniting smokeless smoke. Also offer Emblica, three sour foods, various grains, food essence, flour, and butter, etc. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
