Before the Buddhas, I request the empowerment for the sake of saving sentient beings, and how the source of merit is bestowed. Likewise, please bestow it upon me as well.' After praying in this way, the Tathagatas conceived the intention of empowerment, the consorts bestowed the empowerment, the Bodhisattvas spoke auspicious words, the Bodhisattva consorts performed the Vajra song and dance, and the Wrathful Ones expelled the obstacles, all rejoicing in the act of empowerment. Think about what auspiciousness dwells in the hearts of all sentient beings? The self-nature of all, the supreme lord of all lineages, the creator of all sentient beings, the great bliss. Therefore, may you be blessed with the supreme empowerment today!' With such auspicious words as a prelude, first is the vase empowerment: holding the vase, recite: 'Hum!' The Vajra Arrangement Tantra says: 'The vase of great auspiciousness is the palace where the Sugatas reside, the place where the mandala is complete, and this supreme empowerment is also bestowed upon you.' At the end of the root mantra, add: 'Vajra Kalasha Abhisincha Om As you recite, empower with the water of the vase, filling the entire inside of the body, purifying all impurities, and the remaining water solidifies on the crown of the head, visualizing that you are crowned by the lord of the lineage. Also visualize that the deities of empowerment dissolve into yourself. Make it stable with 'Supratishtha Thus, in the external generation stage, in the mandala manifested by Samadhi, you receive the vase empowerment. Coarsely purify the karma of the body, and subtly purify the obscurations of the channels. You have the authority to practice the path of the generation stage, which is the union of luminosity and emptiness. In the result, you become eligible to obtain the Body Vajra, which is the Nirmanakaya.' Thus, speak the words of purification. Secret empowerment: Visualize the Lama Heruka in union with his consort, and invite all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas with the sound of bliss. Enter the mouth of the father, and after dissolving into the heart, transform into light. The Bodhicitta descends from the path of the Vajra Jewel to the lotus of the mother, and mixes with the nectar in the skull, placing it on the tongue. Recite: 'Hum!' The Vajra Arrangement Tantra says: 'Joy is the great Bodhicitta, which can satisfy everything, the white and red supreme Bodhicitta, the empowerment is given to your tongue.' At the end of the root mantra, add: 'Bodhicitta Abhisincha Ah Place the Bhanda (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) at the throat. With 'A Ho Maha Sukha Ho (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思)', visualize that by tasting the nectar, all the channels are filled with the nectar of Bodhicitta, and that the special wisdom of bliss and emptiness arises in the continuum. If you wish to receive the recitation transmission afterwards, you should visualize in this way. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 16b

From the heart of the visualized deity, a string of mantras emerges like one lamp giving rise to two, exiting from the mouth and entering one's own. It permeates the form and revolves clockwise around the seed syllable at the heart, transforming all sounds of the animate and inanimate world into the essence of indestructible, empty speech. Recite the mantra three times. Thus, in the mandala of inner, conventional bodhicitta, one receives the secret empowerment, purifying the gross actions of speech and the subtle obscurations of the winds. One gains the power to meditate on the union of clarity and emptiness, wind, and inner heat (tummo), and is destined to achieve the Sambhogakaya (enjoyment body) of speech vajra as a result. Wisdom Empowerment: Visualize that from the heart of the mandala's main deity, a vidya (藏文:རིག་མ་,梵文天城体:विद्या,梵文罗马拟音:vidyā,汉语字面意思:明妃) arises to encourage reliance on liberation, a wisdom mother (藏文:ཤེས་རབ་མ་,梵文天城体:प्रज्ञा,梵文罗马拟音:Prajñā,汉语字面意思:wisdom) complete with beauty and youth, the essence of non-conceited wisdom, coming into your lap. Actually take the ritual implements or bell, and recite: 'This goddess is the great mudra, bestowing limitless bliss. Enjoy her in every way as a mudra. May the son make offerings to the unsurpassed.' At the end of the root mantra, add: 'Karma Mudra Abhishintsa Hum' (藏文:ཀརྨ་མུ་དྲ་ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩ་ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:कर्म मुद्र अभिषिञ्च हुं,梵文罗马拟音:Karma mudra abhiṣiñca hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Action Seal Consecration Hum). Enter into union with the wisdom consort with the three recognitions, and through the subsequent play, experience the wisdom of the four joys, stabilizing the innate bliss in your being. Om, all Tathagatas, great passion, vajra nature, I am). Perform the embracing mudra. Thus, in the mandala of the secret hand's lotus, one receives the empowerment of wisdom, purifying the gross actions of mind and the subtle obscurations of the bindus. One gains the power to meditate on the messenger path of bliss and emptiness, and is destined to achieve the Dharmakaya (truth body) of mind vajra as a result. Fourth Empowerment: To symbolize the nature of all phenomena, the wisdom of primordial luminosity, visualize the main deity of the mandala exhaling with vajra words, as stated in the 'Tantras of the Supreme Steed's Play': 'This wisdom is extremely subtle, the vajra heart is like space, free from dust, it is the peaceful dharma, it is one's own nature.' At the end of the root mantra, add: 'Dharma Dhatu Jnana Abhishintsa Ah' (藏文:དྷརྨ་དྷཱ་ཏུ་ཛྙཱ་ན་ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩ་ཨ,梵文天城体:धर्म धातु ज्ञान अभिषिञ्च अ,梵文罗马拟音:dharma dhātu jñāna abhiṣiñca a,汉语字面意思:Dharma Dhatu Wisdom Consecration Ah). Rest in equanimity in the nature of phenomena, which is without inherent existence, and through the means of example, experience the inexpressible state of co-emergent wisdom. Thus, in the mandala of the ultimate bodhicitta of suchness, one receives the fourth empowerment, purifying the gross actions of the alaya (storehouse consciousness) and the subtle obscurations of knowledge. One gains the power to meditate on the union of awareness and emptiness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
