May it never change at any time, may the teachings of Padmasambhava (མཚོ་སྐྱེས་རྒྱལ་བ,Ocean-Born King) flourish and remain forever! Third, may many such upholders of the teachings arise, in two ways: wishing for oneself to uphold them and wishing for others to uphold them. The first is: From now until the end of samsara, may we and others, through spreading, maintaining, and propagating the entirety of the teachings and their essence throughout the realms of space, cause the teachings of Padmasambhava to flourish! Thus, may all who make this aspiration, including myself and my lineage students, from this time forward until the end of sentient beings, not be reborn in the lower realms, but be endowed with the seven qualities of higher realms and the four great wheels that are the basis of the path, and encounter the precious teachings of the Buddha, the three pitakas and the four tantras in general, and in particular the essence of the teachings, the profound inner tantras, the complete body of the path of the three sections, and in all the vast Buddha-fields that pervade the space equal to the realm of dharma, like the supreme sons of the Buddhas, Manjushri, Samantabhadra, Vajrapani, and others, with the perfect armor of vows to uphold, maintain, and propagate, may the precious teachings of Padmasambhava flourish! This is how the noble ones show their own conduct. As it is said in the Guhyagarbha Tantra of the ancient Nyingma tradition: 'Even crossing a razor's edge of fire, hold the Dharma until the very end.' And in the Bhadracaryapranidhana: 'Holding the sacred Dharma of the Buddhas, making all the practices of enlightenment visible.' The second is wishing for others to uphold the teachings: In short, through the conduct of scholars, virtuous ones, and accomplished ones, may the altruistic activities of spreading the Buddha's teachings pervade space, may the noble upholders of the teachings fill the earth, and may the teachings of Padmasambhava flourish! May the life of the glorious lama be firmly established, may the wealth of the patrons of the teachings increase, may the banner of jewels of Dharma and governance be raised without decline, and may the teachings of Padmasambhava flourish!' These two verses summarize the meaning of all the above aspirations. May the scholars who manifest noble conduct through the qualities of knowledge, love, and power, and through the three excellences of scholarship, virtue, and goodness, perfect hearing, thinking, and meditation for their own benefit, and perfect teaching, debating, and writing for the benefit of others, and through the four activities of pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, and subduing, cause the Buddha's teachings to flourish, and may the teachings of Padmasambhava flourish! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually, through the three activities of study, contemplation, and meditation, or through the nine doors of scholarly conduct or the nine doors of saintly conduct. May the Dharma-holder, whose activity pervades all like the sky, spreading the essential doctrine of the Nyingma (Old Translation) school of the Victorious One to all directions, cause the teachings of the Lotus-born Victorious One to flourish everywhere! In particular, may the life of the incomparable Lama, who possesses the glorious abundance of spontaneously accomplishing both aims, be as firm as a vajra, free from destruction, and may all his aspirations be fulfilled without hindrance. May the patrons of the teachings, such as kings, ministers, and householders, also live according to the Dharma, their power flourish, and their four kinds of wealth increase, so that the glory of Dharma and politics never wanes. May monasteries and centers of study and practice increase, never being distracted by gain, etc., and may the Sangha always be in harmony in their view and conduct. May the victory banner of accomplishing the ten practices of Dharma and all good intentions be constantly raised, so that the immaculate doctrine of the Lotus-born Victorious One, especially the lineage of the three divisions of Early Translation Yoga, may flourish and spread in all directions and remain for a long time. May this be accomplished by the blessings of the Lama, the Victorious Ones, and their sons. This is a prayer made with pure intention, free from selfishness, invoking the heart-essence of the Three Roots, with perfect aspiration. The third part of the root text, the meaning of the conclusion, consists of: encouraging others with reasons, and stating the necessity and mentioning the author. The first is: This, the glorious Padmasambhava, the embodiment of all the Victorious Ones, born in the immortal ocean, known as the Early Translation Nyingma school of the Victorious One, is the foundation of the entirety of the Victorious One's teachings, possessing the characteristics of many profound essential points, and the pure view, meditation, and conduct, is the unerring noble path that pleases the Victorious Ones. Recognizing this, like polishing a precious jewel and offering it at the top of a victory banner, may those fortunate individuals, through the great activities of teaching, debating, and writing, cause it to flourish and spread in all directions, and take on this responsibility. Like the embodiment of all the Victorious Ones of the three times, the glorious Padmasambhava, prophesied in the Manjushri Magical Net and other scriptures, attained the immortal Vajra body, the second Victorious One born in the southwestern Ocean of Milk, the Great Secret Early Translation. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
