And Amoghasiddhi. The so-called 'Three Auspicious Deities' refer to: Bhaisajyaguru who pacifies the kalpa of diseases; Amitabha who pacifies the kalpa of weapons; and a thousand Shakyamuni who pacifies the kalpa of famine. Although one usually meditates on the Five Buddhas, here one visualizes: Manjushri like the Protector Avalokiteshvara, with a reddish-yellow body, blazing like the rays of the sun, with hands in the Dharma wheel mudra, possessing the aspect of an immaculate supreme emanation. The all-powerful Avalokiteshvara is like the Buddha radiating light in all directions, Shri Tsek Gyalpo, with a golden body, bestowing the supreme, abiding in equanimity, possessing the aspect of an emanation. Vajrasattva is visualized like Vajradhara. Around them, one visualizes all the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, heroes, dakinis, Dharma protectors, and guardians, like an open sesame pod. If one wishes to meditate on the above-mentioned Five Buddhas, then in front, one visualizes Vairochana and Amoghasiddhi, to the right (south) one visualizes Shakyamuni, behind (west) one visualizes Amitabha, and to the left (north) one visualizes Bhaisajyaguru, thus becoming a complete limb. It is explained through six aspects how to practice: the object of refuge, through what one takes refuge, the manner or method of taking refuge, including the main practice and its classifications, the faults or sins of not taking refuge, and the benefits of taking refuge. First, the object of refuge is the Three Jewels (Triratna). Second, through what kind of person does one take refuge? One takes refuge through a person who possesses the three qualities of faith, respect, and devotion, remembering the qualities of the objects of refuge, desiring to attain unsurpassed Bodhi, and taking refuge out of fear of the suffering of the lower realms. Third, how does one take refuge? A person with three recognitions must take refuge through the path of possessing four dharmas, namely: having faith; being cautious about karma and its results, believing in the law of karma; constantly relying on the guru and respecting the guru; and not doubting the teachings of the guru. Fourth, from the perspective of the main practice or classification, there are three aspects: what should be abandoned, what should be cultivated, and the actual ritual. First, what should be abandoned. The Nirvana Sutra says: 'Whoever takes refuge in the Buddha is a true Upasaka, and never takes refuge in other gods. If one seeks refuge in the true Dharma, one should be free from the mind of हिंसा (Tibetan: འཚེ་བ་,Devanagari: हिंसा,IAST: hiṃsā,literal meaning: harm) and killing. One who has taken refuge in the Sangha should not pay homage to other heretics.' Second, what should be cultivated is divided into common practices and special practices. First is the common practice. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Furthermore, whatever actions you do at any time, you should only remember the virtues of the Three Jewels (Triratna). Secondly, the special thing to adopt is: to generate respect for each deity, to build supports for body (statues), speech (scriptures), and mind (stupas), as well as to offer and serve, respect, and be devoted to the Sangha. The actual ritual of taking refuge is divided into four types: outer, inner, secret, and ultimate reality refuge. The first is: As stated in the 'Heap of Jewels Sutra': 'There is no teacher like the Buddha, no protector like the Dharma, no field of merit like the Sangha, therefore, one should revere these three.' The second is: the three of Guru, Yidam, and Dakini. In reality, they are all contained within the Guru. As stated in the 'Guhyasamaja Tantra': 'The Guru and Vajradhara should not be seen as different.' The third is: abiding in the state of the four views, meditation, conduct, and result is also considered taking refuge. The view is the inseparability of Dharmadhatu and Jnana, meditation is stability in Samadhi, conduct is the accomplishment of self and other's benefit, and the result is the spontaneous accomplishment of the five Kayas. Practicing without straying, without distraction, and without change from this state. The fourth is: the basis is the natural state, the path is the self-existing state, the action is the natural manifestation, and the result is the natural liberation. Practicing without straying from this state. Fifth, if one does not possess these, one cannot be counted among the inner Buddhists, the blessings of the three roots will not enter, and the vows of discipline and Samaya will become without support. Sixth, the merits of becoming the basis of all vows: entering the ranks of inner Buddhists, not being shaken by any fear, not going astray, not being reborn in the three lower realms, all wishes being fulfilled as desired, the blessings of the three roots entering, and so on, are numerous. The above-mentioned method of focusing the mind on the object in front and meditating on Shamatha is the same in meaning as what is said in the 'Lankavatara Sutra' as the Brahmayana. The sound of Brahma means purity and cleanliness, because it is pure or clean from the afflictions of desire, so in a broad sense, all twenty-one abodes of the seventeen realms of the form realm and the four abodes of the formless realm are called Brahma, and the path to go there and everything related to it is called Brahmayana. This is also through the power of practicing Shamatha, observing one's lower realm as coarse, and observing one's own realm as peaceful Vipassana, thereby abandoning the afflictions of the lower realm and being born in the higher realm. Thought and form are both Brahmayana. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
