Going too far outwards, going too far inwards; going too far upwards, going too far downwards in penetration, practice until the body feels either existing or non-existing, becoming empty and light. Then, seeking softness: verbally reciting a soft and long 'Hūṃ' (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Seed Syllable), visualizing a reed or small branch erected in front, the sound of 'Hūṃ' coming from one's own mouth, like a continuous rope, making a 'narara' sound, winding upwards around the branch, resting upon reaching the top. Then resting also when unwinding downwards. Repeatedly winding and unwinding many times. Finally, for mountains, tall houses, and trees and stones that can be wound around, practice winding upwards and unwinding downwards, etc. Entering the Path: singing the song of 'Hūṃ' verbally, entering a crooked path like the trail of a worm in front of oneself, visualizing oneself as the size of the syllable 'Hūṃ', entering this path and exiting from it. Then again, gradually entering the path, as if not walking, going to all the places one has been before, building bridges over the bends in the upward and downward paths, like building bridges over water. Returning again from the path one has previously taken, accompanying the visualization of returning to one's own dwelling, singing a melodious and long song of 'Hūṃ'. Finally, visualizing entering a valley facing northwest, where a narrow and turbulent river flows, the mountains on the left and right are steep and covered with forests, entering an extremely long path chasing the river, going to a place with no end. Resting in between at the riverside and pleasant oases, bathing. Also, in those places, meeting one's own parents, friends, and those who have passed away, having brief conversations with each other. Then, bidding farewell and departing, returning again along the original path, repeatedly visualizing returning to one's dwelling. Thirteenth, Differentiating Between Mind, Saṃsāra, and Nirvāṇa: From the Tantra: 'Mind, where does it first come from, where does it dwell in the middle, and where does it go in the end?' By examining these three in this way, one can tame the mind and understand the nature of the mind. Therefore, first observe and contemplate, all the arising thoughts and awareness, this mind that is aware of everything and does everything, where does it first arise from? Is there a place of origin? If not, why? If so, what is it like? How does the observer itself exist? Where does it come from? Similarly, do the middle dwelling place and the final destination exist? If they exist, what are they like? If they do not exist, what are the reasons? Do not just make rough guesses, but seek to the root and determine the understanding. On this basis, observe the nature of the Buddha and the nature of sentient beings. Furthermore, observe afflictions and wisdom, medicine and poison. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dreams and manifestations, the five elements, all the good and bad aspects of the respective realms of the six consciousnesses, are not the true nature. Focus solely on the essence of consciousness, intently and continuously observing it. While observing, if there are distinctions in the essence, what kind of distinctions are they? If there are no distinctions, then determine the reasons and basis for their absence. Make a firm decision and resolution regarding this. The fourteenth key point is the introduction (of the three bodies): First, the mind has no origin, which is Dharmakaya (Tibetan: ཆོས་སྐུ།); in the middle, the mind has no abiding place, which is Sambhogakaya (Tibetan: ལོངས་སྐུ།); finally, the mind has no destination, which is Nirmanakaya (Tibetan: སྤྲུལ་སྐུ།). Therefore, one must determine that the place of origin, the place of abiding, and the place of destination, all three, as well as the nature of all phenomena, are empty. Having determined this, recognizing it as the three bodies means that what one has practiced and seen, and what the guru has said, are in complete agreement. The fifteenth key point is settling into the natural state: Having gained confidence in settling into liberation, let go of the ninefold activities, both internal and external. Therefore, letting go of all internal and external secret activities of body, speech, and mind is called a 'yogi who has abandoned activities.' Settling into the natural state in this way, keeping the mind from dwelling on anything, is the dwelling of the Shravakas; abiding in a stable state is the dwelling of the complete Sambhogakaya, the seven-point posture of Vairochana; transforming the stable state into liberation is the posture of the wrathful deities, such as the squatting posture of a sage, as well as the seven-point posture, the throwing posture, jumping and running, dancing and whirling, etc. The nature of the mind is to be free from all grasping, rejecting, accepting, and abandoning; there is no other transformation whatsoever. The sixteenth key point is the guidance of self-liberation: This is the support for the above method of settling. If one distinguishes it, there are four types: self-liberation, original liberation, immediate liberation, and complete liberation. As the scripture says: 'Because of self-liberation, there is no need for an antidote; because of original liberation, there is no need for repetition; because of immediate liberation, it vanishes at the sight; because of complete liberation, there is no effort.' The seventeenth key point is the guidance of Tögal (顿超): Having seen the nature of mind so well, the way to practice the path is to practice Tögal, the profound key point of Dzogchen. Regarding this, 'The door and the realm, the wind and the awareness, the essential points must all be coordinated.' Therefore, as the eye, which is the door for the arising of wisdom, does not deviate from the three ways of looking; the realm is the sky, free from conditions; the breath is extremely slow; the awareness is focused on the Dharmadhatu, abiding in its natural state, without fabrication, and practicing in this way, the four visions arise in sequence: First, there appear bindus, subtle bindus, like the colors of a peacock's feathers, and like silk spread out, stretching upwards, radiating light, like a parasol, stupas, etc., gradually appearing larger, which is the manifestation of Dharmata; within these, the appearance of deity forms is the increase of realization; each bindu appears as a mandala of five families, etc., which is...
