Wisdom is perfected. Ultimately, when thoughts of good and bad are purified, like a river merging into the ocean, or like a spider retracting its web, dissolving into the expanse and awakening to vastness, it is the exhaustion of the nature of reality (chos nyid zad pa). The signs of this manifest in body, speech, and mind, and the degree is measured by dreams. For the superior, dreams cease; for the intermediate, dreams appear as clear light; for the inferior, one recognizes the nature of dreams within the dream. The signs are: when the nature of reality manifests, the body is like a turtle placed in its shell; speech is like a mute person; the mind is like a Ḍākiṇī (空行母) caught in a net. When the experience increases, the body is like a person afflicted by illness; speech is like a madman; the mind is like one who has consumed poison. When wisdom is perfected, the body is like an elephant stuck in the mud; speech is like the echo of a clay pot; the mind is like the clearing of measles. When the nature of reality is exhausted, the body is like a corpse in a charnel ground, unafraid even when surrounded by executioners; speech is like the echo of a rock, repeating the words of others without attachment; the mind is like mist dissolving into the sky, naturally liberated in the expanse of primordial purity. As the tantra says: 'The light of the manifestation of the nature of reality extinguishes the center of the mind's clinging. The light of the increasing experience establishes the wisdom of the bardo (中阴). The light of the perfected awareness recognizes the body of perfect enjoyment (Sambhogakāya, 报身). The light of the exhaustion of the nature of reality obtains the unlabored fruit of the Great Perfection (Dzogchen, 大圆满).' The six lamps are: Cittashayi Lamp (จิต्तཤའི་སྒྲོན་མ།, citta śāyi sgron ma, the lamp of the mind lying down), the White Soft Vein Lamp (དཀར་འཇམ་རྩའི་སྒྲོན་མ།, dkār 'jam rtsā'i sgron ma), the Far-Reaching Water Lamp (རྒྱང་ཞགས་ཆུའི་སྒྲོན་མ།, rgyang zhags chu'i sgron ma), these three lamps rely on the body. The Empty Thigle Lamp (ཐིག་ལེ་སྟོང་པའི་སྒྲོན་མ།, thig le stong pa'i sgron ma), the Pure Expanse Lamp (རྣམ་དག་དབྱིངས་ཀྱི་སྒྲོན་མ།, rnam dag dbyings kyi sgron ma), the Self-Arisen Wisdom Lamp (ཤེས་རབ་རང་བྱུང་སྒྲོན་མ།, śes rab rang byung sgron ma), these three lamps are the luminosity of awareness. Detailed explanations of these lamps, such as the union of mother and child, can be found in the 'Mirror of the Four Lamps' and in the instructional texts. For Trekchö (顿超), one establishes the foundation on the three unwavering instructions, measures with the three abidings, fixes with the three attainments, and demonstrates the degree of liberation of the four confidences. The three unwavering instructions are: the body's posture does not change, the Dharmakāya (法身) is like a lion, the Sambhogakāya (报身) is like an elephant, the Nirmāṇakāya (化身) is like a hermit squatting; the gaze of the eyes does not change, upwards, downwards, straight ahead; awareness does not waver from the expanse. The three abidings are: outer appearance abides, inner illusory body abides, secret winds and bindus (明点) abide. The three attainments are: attainment of autonomy over birth, attainment of autonomy over entering, attainment of autonomy over abiding. The four confidences are: upwards, one does not expect to attain Buddhahood; one does not doubt non-attainment; downwards, one does not fall into the lower realms. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is no longer fear of experiencing suffering, nor hope of not experiencing it, thus, the two extremes of hope and fear of rising (elevation) are exhausted; the two extremes of hope and fear of falling (degradation) are also exhausted, thereby possessing four confidences. The eighteenth guiding point is the guidance on the fruit: Having obtained this pith instruction, through diligent practice, the best will attain liberation in three years, the intermediate in five, and even the least in seven. Having attained the state of Samyak-sambuddha (perfectly and completely enlightened Buddha) and Abhisambuddha (manifestly perfectly enlightened Buddha), one becomes the Dharma Raja (king of Dharma) with spontaneous accomplishment of both benefits (for self and others). Detailed explanations can be found in the Guru's teachings and the texts of the guiding instructions. Here, only a brief summary is given. At the request of Karma Thupten Nyinjedpa, the Dharma Lord of Chokorba Monastery, Pelingpa Tsultrim Dorje composed this during a meditation session. May all sentient beings, through this merit, realize the profound reality and have the fortune to practice excellently in the all-good, boundless, and vast expanse of Klong Yang (primordial space)! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
