At the space between your eyebrows, place a red bindu, and celebrate the feast of life and auspiciousness: Visualize that in the sky above you, Amitayus (Amitayus, Sanskrit, Amitāyus, Immeasurable Life), is surrounded by the lamas of the lineage of the life empowerment, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, heroes and dakinis, Dharma protectors and guardians, and vidyadharas of gods and humans, showering flowers, playing music, and wishing auspiciousness with songs of auspiciousness. Thus, convey the message. In the vast space in front, the root guru is Amitayus, the lineage lamas gather like clouds, the yidam deity assembly is surrounded, the mothers and dakinis perform dances, the Dharma protectors and guardians are employed as servants, the sound of melodious music roars like a thousand dragons, and auspicious flowers fall like rain. To all fortunate ones gathered here, may there be auspiciousness of immortal life! May there be auspiciousness of wealth and fame! May there be auspiciousness of great bliss and wisdom! May there be auspiciousness of fulfilling all wishes!' And so on, and recite various auspicious verses, scatter flowers, play beautiful music, promise samaya, offer the mandala of gratitude, offer body and possessions, and dedicate the merit, as usual, and then the students return to their respective places. Concluding ritual: Offerings, purification, and blessing of the offerings, offer praise as before. Confess faults with the Hundred Syllable Mantra and incompleteness, etc. If there is a deity image in front, then perform the stable abiding ritual, and if not, then visualize the wisdom being departing and the samaya being dissolving into oneself. Dedicate aspirations and wish for auspiciousness. If accumulating a hundred longevity empowerments, etc., until giving the longevity pills, perform the extensive ritual once as mentioned above, and then recite any auspicious verses. Then, pray again, repeating the following: 'Guru, please grant me the accomplishment of deathless life.' After praying thus, visualize as follows. If simplifying, then do not pray, but directly visualize as follows. Visualize that light radiates from the mantra garland at the heart of Amitayus in front, stealing and robbing all that has been taken away from your life and merit, as well as the essence of the elements, the life and merit of all sentient beings, all the perfections of the three realms, and all the blessings of the body, speech, and mind of the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and disciples, all gathered and dissolved into the mantra garland. From this, a stream of nectar descends, filling the vase, becoming the nectar of immortality. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Empowerment is conferred by pouring nectar from the crown of the head, filling the entire body inside and out, washing away all diseases, evil spirits, sins, and obscurations accumulated since beginningless time. The decline of life and merit is restored. From the Amitayus in the vase, a second self arises. Meditate that it dissolves into yourselves, attaining the deathless life of a vidyadhara.' Recite this and confer the empowerment. If desired, recite the Power of Truth. In any case, while reciting the long-life mantra, give long-life wine and long-life pills. Recite any auspicious verses. Count in this way. When completed, perform the long-life binding and other rituals as before. Additionally, here is a brief method for engaging in recitation practice based on self-generation: In a clean and secluded place, arrange offerings and tormas before an image of Amitayus. Seal the boundaries tightly. In three or four sessions per day, practice self-generation as before. At the end of each session, recite the Hundred Syllable Mantra, offer praise, dedication, and auspicious prayers. At the end of any session, before or after, purify and bless the torma. Visualize light radiating from your heart, inviting the retinue of Amitayus from Sukhavati, and contemplate them residing inseparably in the support before you, offering tormas, praise, and worship. Confess transgressions. Perform the stable abiding and dedication prayers for the front generation. In this way, recite as much as possible the Amaraṇi (Tibetan: ཨ་མཱ་ར་ཎི་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अमरणि, Sanskrit Romanization: amarani, literally: deathless), Saraha (Tibetan: ས་ར་ཧ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: सरह, Sanskrit Romanization: saraha, literally: arrow), and the long-life mantra. At the end, arrange the support of the front generation, the long-life vase, etc., as when empowering disciples. With self-generation as the preliminary, with the intention of absorbing the essence of long life into oneself, practice the front generation, and take accomplishment in the manner of oneself entering. Afterwards, perform the extensive subsequent rituals. Furthermore, although not explicitly stated in this text, if desired, one can offer a tsok feast in accordance with the common practices of the Early Translation School. At the end of the torma offering, purify the tsok implements. From emptiness, upon a wind-fire skull cup, the five meats and five nectars boil, transforming into light, becoming the essence of the tsok nectar. It transforms into clouds of desirable qualities filling the sky. Bless it with: Om Ah Hum Ha Ho Hrih (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་ཧ་ཧོ་ཧྲཱིཿ). Hrih (Tibetan: ཧྲཱིཿ), from Sukhavati and the twenty-four sacred places, from the Lotus Light realm and other realms of the ten directions, invite the deathless Three Roots, the deities of long life, and request them to partake of the feast. Vajra Samaja (Tibetan: བཛྲ་ས་མཱ་ཛཿ). With the tsok field awakened, pervading the sky, offer the tsok offering before them. Hrih (Tibetan: ཧྲཱིཿ), Amitayus, the protector, the secret wisdom mother, Padmasambhava, the glorious Raudradharin. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
